Base Class: Druid
The Circle of Scales is a collection of sages, natural clerics, and sometimes even cultists who revere and seek ancient knowledge and preservation of dragons, as well as their draconic culture. Druids tied to this circle live far from civilized places, sanctifying nesting grounds and maintaining the regional effects surrounding lairs of dragons. The circle’s leadership acts as a spokesperson and go-between for its respective dragon, and serves as advisors to the other members. As a member of this circle, your power is influenced by the warped nature of the region where you were initiated into the circle’s draconic rites.
Bonus Cantrip
When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you learn the cantrip Fire Bolt. This does not count against your maximum number of Druid cantrips known.
Draconic Recovery
Starting at 2nd level, you can regain some of your magical inspiration by meditating on the draconic essence. During a short rest, you choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your druid level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
For example, when you are a 4th-level druid, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level slot or two 1st-level slots.
Speech of the Wyrm
You gain the ability to speak, read, and write Draconic. Time spent near their presence and teaching passed down from their messengers has enabled you to learn this ancient language.
Circle Spells
This circle has a list of spells — its circle spells — that you gain at the druid levels noted below. Once you gain a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.
If you have a circle spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Scaled Defense
As time spent devoted to this circle begins to manifest, parts of your skin become covered by a thin sheen of dragon-like scales. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC equals 13 + your Wisdom modifier.
Vigilance of the Drake
When you reach 10th level, you can’t be charmed or frightened by dragons or dragon-like creatures such as wyverns, kobolds, etc, and you gain the ability to breath in both air and water.
Dreamscape
Starting at 14th level, you can plunge a creature into a dream-like illusion, similar to the dream planes that ancient dragons create. As an action, choose a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you. It must make a Wisdom saving throw against your druid spell save DC. On a failed save, it is charmed or frightened by you (your choice) for 1 minute or until your concentration is broken (as if you are concentrating on a spell). This effect ends early if the creature takes any damage.
Until this illusion ends, the creature thinks it is lost in a misty realm, the details of which you choose. The creature can see and hear only itself, you, and the illusion.
You must finish a short or long rest before you can use this feature again
