Base Class: Bard
Bards across the world channel their magic through art, be it sculpture, music, song, painting, or spoken word. Some bards use the art of the body -- Dance -- to weave their magic through the world. Bards of dance move about the battlefield like water, flowing this way and that. They are a unique combination of beautiful grace and deadly force.
Performer's Grace
Also at 3rd level, as a member of the College of Dancers, your lithe and fluid movements allow you to move with speed and power. When not wearing armor or a shield, you gain a bonus to your Armor Class equal to your Charisma modifier.
You also gain Proficiency in the performance and acrobatics skills. If you already are proficient, you gain expertise instead. You may use the artistry of your dance to channel your magic as though it was a focus for your spells.
The Magic of Dance
Starting at 3rd level, as a member of the College of Dancers, you are shown how to not only perform many beautiful dances, but how to work their own magic into those dances. You now have Magical Dances, fueled by your Bardic Inspiration Dice. Additional pertinent information is detailed below.
- Dances. You learn two Dances of your choice, which are detailed below. Some Dances enhance an attack in some way. You can use only one Dance per attack. You learn a new additional Dance of your choice at 6th, 10th, and 14th level. Each time you learn a new Dance, you can also replace one Dance you know with a different one.
- Saving Throws. Some of your Dances require your target to make a saving throw to resist the Dance's effects. The saving throw DC is equal to your Bard spell casting modifier.
Magical Dances
Beguiling Beat
Your fluid movements are enthralling -- magically so. As an action you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die and choose one creature that you can see and that can see you within 30 feet of you. The creature must make a Wisdom save against your spell casting DC.
The creature takes psychic damage equal to the roll of the Inspiration Die, and on a failure becomes charmed by you and incapacitated. until the end of your next turn, or up to one minute if you maintain concentration on this ability.
This effect ends if the target takes damage from you or your allies, or a creature uses its action to snap them out of it. To maintain concentration on this ability, you must spend your bonus action each turn to continue the dance.
Coordinated Crescendo
When taking the attack action you may use your bonus action and expend a Bardic Inspiration die to signal an ally to strike. Choose a friendly creature who can see and/or hear you within 30 feet of you. That creature may immediately use its reaction to make one weapon attack against another creature within range, and they add the roll of the Inspiration die to the damage.
Feisty Salsa
You take on a spicy, fiery dance. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to ignite the air around you in a flourish. The attack deals additional fire damage equal to the roll of the Inspiration die.
The creature bursts into flames, and is on fire for one minute or until it or another creature uses an action to douse the flames. At the start of each of its turns, a creature that is on fire this way takes fire damage equal to a roll of the Inspiration die.
Inspiring Bolero
As a bonus action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to begin an upbeat dance that temporarily invigorates your allies. Choose a friendly creature who can see and/or hear you within 30 feet of you. You grant this creature temporary hit points equal to the roll of the Inspiration die and the creature has advantage on their next attack roll.
Marking Minuet
Through your dance, you mark a target as the antagonist of your performance. As an action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to magically mark a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. Until the end of your next turn, the first time the marked creature is deal damage in a turn, they take additional necrotic damage equal to the roll of the Inspiration die.
Pushing Pirouette
When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to finish the strike with a beautiful spinning kick. You add the roll of the Inspiration die to the damage of the attack and the creature is pushed 10 feet away from you.
Radiant Flamenco
You take on a vibrant, flashy dance. As an Action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to release a burst of light against a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. Make a ranged spell attack. On a hit, you deal radiant damage equal to the roll of the Inspiration die, and the creature must make a Constitution save against your spell casting DC or be blinded until the end of your next turn.
Soothing Capoeira
You take on a slow, relaxing dance. As a bonus action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to heal the wounds of your companions. You and each friendly creature you can see within 30 feet of you restores a number of hit points equal to the roll of the Inspiration die.
Sweeping Samba
When a creature attempts to make a melee attack against you, you may use your reaction and expend a Bardic Inspiration die to dance out of the way and strike the creature as you move. You add the Inspiration die to the attack’s damage roll, and you lower the creature's attack roll by the same roll of the Inspiration die, potentially causing the attack to miss.
Swift Pasodoble
You take up a quick paced, reactionary dance to avoid enemy assault. As a bonus action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to take the Dodge action and grant yourself a number of temporary hit points equal to the roll of the Inspiration die.
Transporting Tango
You use your dance to move yourself and an ally to a more opportune location. As an action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to move up to your walking speed, taking up to one willing creature with you as you move. The creature you take with you restores hit points equal to the roll of the Inspiration die. Moving this way does not invoke attacks of opportunity.
Whirlwind Waltz
You take on a violent, dynamic dance. As an action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to make a single attack against any number of creatures within a 5 foot radius of you. You roll an attack for each creature separately, and you add your Inspiration die to the damage of any successful attacks.
Artistic Expression
Starting at 6th level, you have added your own talent and flair to your dances, making them truly your own. You may now add your Charisma modifier to any roll of the Inspiration dice for your Dances.
Additionally, once per long rest you may perform a Dance without expending an Inspiration die.
Masterful Choreography
Starting at 14th level, with your exceptional dancing talents, you are able to put extra effort into a dance and master it for a time. At the end of a long rest, choose one of the Dances you know. Until you finish another long rest, you do not need to expend a Bardic Inspiration die in order to perform that dance.
