Oath of Gunslinging 2024

A Gunslinger of Gilead transmogrifies their humble wisdom and faith into unhesitating displays of unrelenting power. Trained in many forms of martial combat, but a specialist in the use of new-age firearm technology, they exact holy retribution upon those who would dare to challenge their devotion. Few cut from the gunslinger's cloth survive the rigorous Trials of Manhood.

Firearm Proficiency

Starting when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with firearms, allowing you to add your proficiency bonus to attacks made with firearms.

Gunsmith

Upon choosing this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Tinker’s Tools. You may use them to craft ammunition at half the cost, repair damaged firearms, or even draft and create new ones (DM’s discretion). Some extremely experimental and intricate firearms are only available through crafting.

Style and Grace

When you choose this oath at 3rd level, you forgo the typical tricks of your ilk, and favor to channel your ecstatic energy through your ammunition instead. All smite spells that you cast no longer apply to your melee attacks. Instead, they all now apply to your ranged weapon attacks.

The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of Gunslinging table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Fan the Hammer. As an action, you enter a transient state of divine and unerring alacrity. You make one attack for every piece of ammunition currently loaded into your firearm. To use this action, you must have one hand free. You ignore the Misfire property of your weapon for each of these attacks, and you can reload the same firearm as a free action at the end of your turn.

Horn of Eid. As a bonus action, you present your holy symbol and speak a rallying prayer, and ignite a flame within the bellies of your friends. For 1d4 rounds, each ally that can see or hear you within 30 feet of you gains advantage on the first attack of their turn.

Hawk Eyes

As a Bonus Action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to utter a vow of augment your sight. For 1 minute, you cannot gain disadvantage when attacking with ranged weapons, and negate all forms of cover while in this state.

Aura of Anticipation

At 7th level, you master the motions of drawing and stowing your weaponry- to such a degree that even your allies have become picking up on your technique.

You gain advantage on initiative rolls. Furthermore, while you are conscious, friendly creatures (including you) within 10 ft. of you can draw and stow all one-handed weapons as a free action, and draw or stow all two-handed weapons as a bonus action.

Lightning Reload

Starting at 15th level, you can reload any firearm as a free action.

How the West Was Won

At 20th level, your soul channels the deep spirits of the wastelands, transforming you into an unstoppable avatar of frontier justice. As a bonus action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

• Your ranged weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 17, 18, 19 or 20.
• You are immune to the blind condition, and gain true sight for 120 feet
• When you make a ranged weapon attack, the attack's effective range is doubled.
• You can attack three times, instead of twice, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
• All smites do not cost spell slots when casted at their lowest level. 

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending a 5th-level spell slot (no action required).
