Base Class: Fighter
The Wraith Blade blends the discipline of a skilled warrior with mastery over shadows. Using their willpower, they summon shadowy echoes of themselves and dark creatures to fight alongside them. These warriors possess a commanding presence, their charisma enhancing both their combat abilities and their influence over others.
In battle, the Wraith Blade never stands alone. Their shadows take monstrous forms, turning the tide of any conflict. With both physical skill and the power of the void, they strike fear into their enemies and lead with unshakable resolve.
Shadow Familiar
At 3rd level you gain the ability to summon a shadow familiar, a dark echo of yourself, as a bonus action. This familiar acts independently, but you can control its actions and movement as part of your own turn. It can make attacks and interact with the environment, though it shares your hit points and AC. The shadow lasts for 10 minutes or until it drops to 0 hit points.
The familiar can also take the form of a Shadow Monster (Medium or Large creature), though it still has the same HP and AC as your familiar form. The Shadow Monster has basic melee attacks and can impose disadvantage on enemies within 5 feet.
Combat Proficiency
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Persuasion or Intimidation. You also gain a bonus action ability called Battle Focus, which allows you to gain advantage on your next weapon attack roll.
Enhanced Abilities
At 7th level, your shadow familiar now lasts for up to 1 hour, and you can summon an additional shadow monster. You can switch between controlling your own echo or the shadow monster on your turn.
You can summon 1 cleric spell (such as Shield of Faith, Bless, or Healing Word) once per long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
Fearless Presence
At 10th level you gain Advantage on Saving Throws against being frightened or charmed.
Additionally, as a bonus action, you can impose fear on enemies within 10 feet of your echo or shadow monster. Targets must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be frightened of the echo or shadow monster for 1 minute.
Shadow Legion
At level 15th: You can now summon two shadow monsters at once (each no larger than Large size), each acting independently, though they still share hit points with your main familiar form. Both monsters can attack on your turn, and they can impose disadvantage on attacks made against creatures within 5 feet of them.
The shadow monsters also gain an additional ability based on their form (e.g., a shadow wolf could grapple with its bite, or a shadow giant could knock targets prone)
Avatar of Shadows
At 18th level as an action, you transform into a shadow avatar for 1 minute. During this time:
- You gain resistance to all damage except psychic damage.
- Your shadow familiar can split into three copies of you or any combination of shadow monsters.
- You can use your Battle Focus an unlimited number of times while in this form.
- After you exit this form, you must take a long rest before using it again.
