Base Class: Barbarian
Rage is a mental state of being as much as it is a physical one. Barbarians who walk the Path of the Immortal harbor psionic power within themselves, using the power of their minds to augment their physical forms and bombard their foes with telekinetic might.
An Immortal's mastery of the physical form grants them their name, being infamously hard to kill.
Psionic Power
3rd-level Path of the Immortal feature
You harbor a wellspring of psionic energy within yourself. This energy is represented by your Psionic Energy dice, which are each a d6. You have a number of these dice equal to twice your proficiency bonus, and they fuel various psionic powers you have, which are detailed below. If a power requires a saving throw, the DC equals 8 + your Intelligence modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Some of your powers expend the Psionic Energy die they use, as specified in a power’s description, and you can’t use a power if it requires you to use a die when your dice are all expended. You regain all your expended Psionic Energy dice when you finish a long rest. In addition, as a bonus action, you can regain one expended Psionic Energy die, but you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
When you reach certain levels in this class, the size of your Psionic Energy dice increases: at 5th level (d8), 11th level (d10), and 17th level (d12). The powers below use your Psionic Energy dice.
Psionic Resilience. You can bolster your body with psionic energy. As a bonus action, you can expend one Psionic Energy die and gain temporary hit points equal to two rolls of your Psionic Energy die plus your Intelligence modifier.
Knock Back. You can propel your weapons with psionic force. Once on each of your turns, immediately after you hit a target with a melee weapon, you can expend one Psionic Energy die, rolling it and dealing force damage to the target equal to the number rolled plus your Intelligence modifier and pushing the target up to 10 feet away from you in a straight line.
Psychic Recall. You can exert psionic energy into your weapons, causing them to return to you when thrown. When you take the Attack action with a melee weapon, you can expend a Psionic Energy die to give that weapon the Thrown and Range properties for 1 minute, with a short range of 30 feet and a long range of 120 feet. When you throw your held weapon while raging, it returns to your hand immediately after the attack, no action required. If you use this ability on a weapon that already has the Thrown property, its short and long ranges increase by 10 feet.
Iron Mind
3rd-level Path of the Immortal feature
Your rage forms a shield around your mind, granting you resistance to psychic damage while raging.
Advanced Psionics
6th-level Path of the Immortal Feature
You have mastered new ways to use your psionic abilities, detailed below:
Telepathic Roar. Your rage inspires fear in your enemies. As part of your bonus action when you rage, you can expend one Psionic Energy die to let out a telepathic roar. Choose a number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus within 30 feet of you. A target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes psychic damage equal to one roll of your Psionic Energy die and becomes frightened of you for 1 minute. It must use its movement to move as far away from you as possible and must use its action on its next turn to take the Dash action. A frightened creature can reroll the save at the end of each of it's turns, ending the effects on itself on a success.
Mind Blast. As an action, you can expend one Psionic Energy die to exert telekinetic energy in a 30-foot cone in front of you. A target in range must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes psychic damage equal to three rolls of your Psionic Energy die plus your Intelligence modifier and is stunned until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, a target takes half damage and is not stunned.
Cerebral Tenacity
10th-level Path of the Immortal feature
The power of your mind lets you strike foes even when you should have missed. Once per turn when you miss with a melee attack while raging, you can expend one Psionic Energy die, rolling it and dealing force damage equal to the number rolled.
Immortal Will
14th-level Path of the Immortal feature
You can draw upon your psionic power to survive beyond death. When you are reduced to zero hit points, you can use your reaction to expend all of your Psionic Energy dice, rolling them and regaining hit points equal to the total number rolled. If you were not raging when you were reduced to zero hit points, you automatically enter a rage.
Once you use this feature, you must complete a long rest before you can use it again.
