Base Class: Barbarian
Cinderheart Barbarians draw upon the primal force of fire, sacrificing their own life force to fuel their fury and protect their allies. Their burning spirit symbolizes both destruction and renewal, embodying the dual nature of fire.
Disclaimer: For any abilities that involve sacrificing hit points, these lost hit points cannot be reduced or prevented in any way.
Infernal Fury
Eternal Flame: Starting at 3rd level, you can cast fire bolt and can use it at will using your constitution as the spellcasting ability.
Cinderous Strike: While you are raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra fire damage equal to 2 + your proficiency bonus.
Blazing Sacrifice: When a creature other than yourself within 10 feet of you misses an attack, you can use your reaction and sacrifice hit points equal to 2 x your proficiency bonus to grant that creature advantage on its next attack roll. If the attack hits, it deals additional fire damage equal to 2 x prof bonus + 2. You can use this feature twice per short rest. The hit points sacrificed cannot be reduced or prevented in any way.
Flamebound Aura
At 6th level, your fiery spirit manifests as an aura that supports your allies and burns your enemies.
Aura of Cinders: While you are raging, you emit an aura of flames in a 10-foot radius. At the start of each your turns, all enemies within this aura take fire damage equal to half Barbarian level (rounded up), and allies within the aura gain resistance to fire damage and have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
Flameforged Resilience: By spending 1 hour in quiet contemplation, you can connect with the elemental forces of fire. During this time, you gain the ability to sense any fires within 1 mile, discerning their size, intensity, and general location. Additionally, you can gain a brief vision or insight related to a fire-based event or location you are focusing on. You can use this ability once per long rest.
Inferno's Embrace
Inferno's Embrace: When you are reduced to half your maximum hit points or less while raging, you can choose to erupt in flames as a bonus action. You and all allies within 10 feet of you gain temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian Level. Additionally, any creature that hits you with a melee attack while you have these temporary hit points takes fire damage equal to your 2 x your Constitution modifier. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short rest.
Emberborne Insight: You can communicate with elemental spirits of fire. By spending 10 minutes in meditation, you can cast the spell commune with nature, but only in relation to fire-based aspects of the environment, such as active volcanos, recent wildfires, or sources of heat. This feature can be used once per long rest.
Summon Cinder Guardian
At 14th level, your mastery of fire allows you to summon a powerful fiery guardian to aid you in battle.
As an action, you can sacrifice hit points equal to 5 + your Barbarian level to summon a Cinder Guardian, a fire elemental with additional enhancements. The Cinder Guardian uses the Fire Elemental stat block with the following modifications:
- It gains additional hit points equal to your Barbarian level.
- It gains a +2 bonus to its AC.
- It has an additional ability: Flame Ward (Recharge 5-6). As a reaction, the Cinder Guardian can grant resistance to fire damage to an ally within 30 feet for 1 minute.
The Cinder Guardian remains for 1 minute, until it drops to 0 hit points, or until you dismiss it as a bonus action. You can use this feature once per long rest.
