Base Class: Monk
The Elves believe in an intrinsic energy that flows through all things, called Eire. Everything, living and non-living, has Eire, and the Elves worship the balance of Eire. Elves practice meditation and some forms of martial arts in order to balance their Eire. Also because of this belief system, the Elves have a deep appreciation and respect for the natural world. High in the Elven hierarchy stands a legion of great warriors called the Ifusa, Elves who have devoted their entire lives to the Eire. They are highly trained in martial arts and a special type of sword fighting, but peace and balance remain their highest values. Similarly, the wood elves have an order of highly-trained individuals called the Eire-is. These people are protectors of what the wood elves deem the natural Eire, as well as shadow warriors.
(This is based off a homebrew campaign I am making. Please provide criticism as it is my first homebrew subclass.)
Flow Reading
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your deep connection to Eire allows you to sense the flow of energy in living and non-living things. As an action, you can spend a Ki point to cast detect magic or detect good and evil.
Isufa Style
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your dedication to mastering the balance of sword fighting grants you proficiency with one martial sword-type weapon (e.g Greatsword, Longsword, Scimitar, Rapier). This weapon counts as a monk weapon for you. When you hit a creature with a monk weapon, you can choose to deal damage equal to your Dexterity modifier instead of rolling for damage. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, regaining all uses after a long rest.
Eire-is Waltz
At 6th level, you’ve learned to harmonize your movements with the flow of battle. When you make an unarmed strike or use a monk weapon on your turn, you can use your reaction to move up to 10 feet in any direction as a free action without provoking opportunity attacks as well as being able to move through enemies. Additionally, if you make an unarmed attack or a monk weapon attack directly after using Eire-is Waltz (on the same turn) you can spend 1 ki point to utilize the momentum of the flowing movement to its fullest extent. You can choose to deal either extra die of radiant damage equal to your Martial Arts die on this attack or reduce the damage of the next attack made against you by the same amount.
Harmonious Spirit
At 11th level, your mastery of Eire enhances your ability to remain cantered in the most chaotic of situations. You gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws, if you don't already have it. Additionally, you can spend 2 ki points to cast calm emotions as an action without using a spell slot.
Eiran Ascension
At 17th level, you have become a master of Eire, able to, for a moment, perfectly align your inner flow to channel it to an overwhelming degree. As an action, you can spend 5 Ki points to become an avatar of balance for 1 minute. While in this form:
- You have resistance to all damage except force and psychic.
- When you deal damage to a creature, you can choose to either heal a creature you can see within 30 feet for half the amount of damage dealt or deal the same amount of damage to another creature within 30 feet.
- The range of Eire-is Waltz increases to 20 feet.
- You cannot be stunned, paralyzed, or restrained.
