Base Class: Fighter
A breachgnome is a mighty gnome who is skilled in fighting in cramped conditions. A high-level breachgnome in the right position can hold off a superior force for as long as his/her strength holds out. Such gnomes are trained to fight alone, and they excel at doing so.
Breachgnomes sometimes work in small units, prepared to block off a number of different passages so that their fellows can either get into a better position or even escape. They are almost exclusively found in gnome villages or towns. Sometimes breachgnomes can be found wandering along, searching for fellow gnomes in need of their unique skills.
Restriction: Gnomes Only
Only gnomes can train to become breachgnomes. The breachgnome fills a particular niche in gnomish society and culture.
Your DM can lift this restriction to better suit the campaign. The restriction exists for the Forgotten Realms. It might not apply to your DM’s setting or your DM’s version of the Realms. Another race using this martial archetype is known as a breachguard.
Seal the Breach
Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain a +1 bonus to AC when one medium or larger fixed object (such as a tree, wall, or pillar) is adjacent to and within 5 feet of you. If two medium or larger fixed objects are within 5 feet, one on either side of you, you instead gain +2 to AC.
Uncanny Dodge
Starting at 7th level, when an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack’s damage against you.
Firm Footing
Starting at 10th level, you have advantage on saving throws against spells, effects, or abilities that would knock you prone or push you.
Ambient Defense
Starting at 15th level, if you have two medium or larger fixed objects within 5 feet, one on either side of you, creatures cannot gain advantage on attacks against you unless a feature, spell, or ability you control grants it to them.
Inescapable Fury
Starting at 18th level, you have advantage on opportunity attacks, and when you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, if that creature is medium or smaller, it is knocked prone and its speed becomes 0 until the end of the current turn.
