Base Class: Monk
Warriors of Goo vex their opponents through clever evasion and strategic uses of healing, enabling them to withstand the most brutal of enemy attacks.
Goo Ball
As a Bonus Action you expend one Focus Point to encase yourself in a gelatinous ball of goo. While in this goo ball, you gain the following effects:
- You are unarmored and do not benefit from any armor or nonmagical worn protection.
- Your unarmored movement bonus is doubled, and the distance you can jump is doubled.
- You are resistant to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- On your turn, if you move 20 or more feet using your movement, your next unarmed strike is a Stunning Strike without expending a Focus Point. Stunning Strikes made this way can be done more than once per turn.
- Anytime you expend Focus Points on a feature that deals damage (for example Flurry of Blows or redirecting an attack with Deflect Attacks), you may choose to double the amount of Focus Points expended and double the amount of damage dealt by the feature.
To remain in this goo ball form, you must expend one Focus Point at the start of each of your turns to maintain the form. If you choose not to expend a Focus Point or do not have any, the form ends. This form can be dismissed as a free action.
Viscous Arts
You may choose one of the following features to gain access to. The remaining two features will be available to choose from when you gain this feature again at 11th level, and the final ability not chosen will be granted at 17th level.
Gelatinous Cube
As a Reaction, when you or an ally you can see within 60 feet is targeted by an attack, you may spend two Focus Points to encase the targeted creature in a gelatinous cube of goo. This cube occupies a space that is one size larger than the creature it has encased. Any creatures within 5 feet of the target are pushed to the nearest unoccupied space to make room for the cube. While in the cube, the creature cannot be targeted by any attacks or spells, is immune to all damage, its speed is reduced to 0, is incapacitated, and is healed for a number of rolls of your martial arts die equal to your proficiency bonus. Unless the creature chooses to exit the cube early, The cube lasts until the start of its next turn. Once the creature exits the cube, the cube vanishes.
Puddle Punch
When making an attack roll with an unarmed strike, before you roll you may spend one Focus Point to instead transform the strike into a giant gooey fist that bursts from the surface of an object you can see within 30 feet. The fist is a large object and any objects or creatures occupying the space that the fist emerges into takes damage from your unarmed strike, if your attack roll would hit the target. Creatures damaged by this must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be shoved a number of feet away from the surface from which the fist emerged, equal to five times your proficiency bonus. Afterwards the gooey fist vanishes.
Splatter
You may expend one Focus Point as a Magic Action to launch a small ball of goo at an object not being worn or carried, or creature you can see within 30 feet. If the target is an object, the ball of goo releases a burst of goo on impact, dealing acid damage equal to one roll of your martial arts die in a 5-foot-radius around it. If the target is a creature, make a ranged attack roll using your unarmed strike bonus to hit. On a hit, the ball of goo deals acid damage equal to two rolls of your martial arts die. Regardless of whether you target a creature or object, if the ball of goo hits its target, you may spend an additional Focus Point to bounce the ball to a new target of your choice within 15 feet of the previous target. You may bounce the ball a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, spending a Focus Point for each bounce.
