Base Class: Monk
You were trained in techniques that allow you to transcend your mortal body during battle, entering a flow like state, where your physical body and astral soul become intertwined. The closer you get to achieving total transcendence the sharper your senses get. These monastic traditions are often taught by Lion Turtles and other mighty creatures of the sea and sky, teaching mortals the way of their mystic might. Often these techniques manifest in spiraling astral spirits that follow the monks' dance like movements. The goal of many many monks that follow the Way of the Flowing Fist aim to transcend their mortal bodies and unlock their full potential. Often this leads to these monks manifesting their astral self more and more as they enter their flow state.
Warriors that follow the Way of the Flowing Fist often focus on enhancing their perception of the world due to extensive meditation, even more so than other monks. This enhanced perception allows them to find weak points of an enemy, points in their body where the flow of their vital forces is exposed.
This subclass is heavily inspired by Heavy Arms' Gunslinger, the best Gun Class I've seen for DnD 5e, absolutely check it out!
Battle Flow
3rd-level Way of the Flowing Fist
You have learned to grow closer to your astral-self with every strike, entering a sort of Flow-State in which your perception of the world grows so sharp that your fists strike the very soul of your enemy.
Whenever you hit an enemy with an unarmed strike you gain a point of Flow. Whenever you hit an enemy with an attack you gain a point of Flow. For every two points of Flow your range for scoring a critical hit is expanded by one. Meaning that whenever you hit an enemy with an unarmed strike, the lowest number you must roll on the d20 to score a critical hit is reduced by 1 for every 2 points of Flow you have. You can never have more than 8 flow Points at a time.
Whenever you miss an attack you lose 2 points of Flow. Additionally, whenever you become incapacitated or if your turn ends and you haven't attacked an enemy since your last turn, you lose all of your points of Flow.
Well of Energy
3rd-level Way of the Flowing Fist
Whenever you strike the vital point of an enemy you can in turn activate a vital point of your own letting your own inner power flow more freely.
Whenever you score a critical hit you regain a Focus-Point.
Torrent Strike
6th-level Way of the Flowing Fist feature
Like water you have learned to find a way through the gaps and cracks of your enemies' defences, turning missed attacks into new opportunities to hit.
Starting at 6th-level, whenever you miss with an attack, you may add your Wisdom Modifier to the attack roll, potentially turning a miss into a hit.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and you regain all expended uses whenever you finish a short- or long-rest.
Additionally you regain one use whenever you score a critical hit on an unarmed strike.
Piercing Raindrop
6th-level Way of the Flowing Fist feature
You have learned to utilize the energy of your astral self to pierce into an enemies soul.
When you score a critical hit with an unarmed strike you may choose to have the attack deal force damage.
Additionally, when you score a critical hit you can roll one additional Martial Arts die when determining the extra damage for a critical hit with an unarmed strike.
This damage increases to a roll of two additional Martial Arts dice at 11th level.
Improved Battle Flow
11th-level Way of the Flowing Fist feature
Your mastery over the state of Flow has signifcantly improved and your movements now more closely resemble those of your astral self, graceful yet mighty.
Starting at 11th-level, whenever you hit an opponent with an attack you gain 2 Flow-Points instead of one.
Improved Piercing Raindrop
11th-level Way of the Flowing Fist feature
Starting at 11th-level, when you score a critical hit you can roll two additional Martial Arts die when determining the extra damage for a critical hit with an unarmed strike.
Barrage of the Endless River
17th-level Way of the Flowing Fist feature
You have mastered the Flow-State to a point where your movements become so swift they seem almost invisible.
Starting at 17th-level, once per turn, after taking the attack action and while having at least one Flow-Point, you may spend 2 Ki-Points to gain an additional bonus action.

Posted Oct 12, 2024Updating classes on DnD beyond is kind of a pain, but yeah I missed that. Another fix I have will be that using Barrage of Endless River (17th level feature) will become more pricey since the 2024 for version has access to more ki in general, it will probably cost 3 or 4 focus points.

Posted Oct 10, 2024Will this subclass be updated for the new 2024 players handbook? One of the additions to the monk in the 2024 phb is the ability to deal force damage instead of normal damage at level 6 freely.
