Base Class: Fighter
Chrono Warrior
The Chrono Warrior is a master of manipulating time itself, using the mystical Sands of Time to alter the flow of battle. By drawing upon temporal energies, these warriors can speed themselves up, slow their enemies down, and even momentarily freeze time. With each swing of their weapon, they not only strike their foes but also bend the very fabric of reality to their will. As a Chrono Warrior, you must carefully manage your temporal charges, as they are the key to unlocking your unique powers on the battlefield.
This subclass provides a versatile set of abilities, allowing you to control the pace of battle and support your allies with your time-altering powers. With careful resource management, the Chrono Warrior can turn the tide of combat in their favor, making every moment count.
Sands of Time
Starting at 3rd level, you gain access to the Sands of Time, a pool of temporal energy that fuels your time-altering abilities. You begin with 8 charges, and you regain all expended charges when you finish a long rest, and 3 charges on a short rest. Your charge maximum increases by 2 at levels 7, 10, 15, and 18.
You can use these charges to perform the following abilities:
- Accelerate: Increase your movement speed by 5 feet for each charge spent. This effect lasts until the start of your next turn.
- Shifted Outcome: After making a d20 roll, you can spend 2 charges to reroll the die. You must use the new roll. This can be used once per D20 roll.
- Extra Attack: Spend 3 charges to make an additional weapon attack as part of your Attack action. This can be used once per turn.
- Chronal Shield: When you are hit by an attack, you can spend charges to increase your AC by 1 for each charge spent, lasting until the start of your next turn.
- Displacement: During your movement, spend 1 charge to move without provoking opportunity attacks.
- Timebound: As an action, you can spend 3 charges to force a creature within 30 feet that you can see to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your choice of Wisdom or Intelligence modifier). On a failed save, the creature is restrained until the end of its next turn. This can be used once per turn.
Timekeeper's Influence
Starting at 7th level, your mastery over time deepens. As a reaction, you can use your Sands of Time ability to affect one creature within 30 feet of you.
Temporal Surge
At 10th level, you can briefly tap into an immense reservoir of temporal energy. Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you can regain 1d4+2 expended charges.
Chrono Mastery
At 15th level, your control over time allows you to resist its effects. You gain advantage on saving throws against being aged magically, as well as against any effects that would slow or paralyze you. Additionally, when you use your Temporal Lock, you can spend 1 additional charge to extend the duration of the restraint by 1 additional turn.
Timeless Warrior
At 18th level, you become a true master of time. You now regain 6 expended charges when you finish a short rest. Additionally, when you roll for initiative and have no charges remaining, you regain 4 charges immediately.
