Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

In the dimly lit laboratories of the Alchemist Reanimator, the air crackles with an unholy energy as bolts of electricity dance across arcane apparatuses. This subclass of artificers delves into the forbidden realms of necromancy, seeking to unlock the secrets of reanimation and artificial life.

Tools of the Mad Scientist

Tools of the Mad Scientist: You gain proficiency with alchemist's supplies, and you can use them as a spellcasting focus for your artificer spells. Additionally, you learn the animate dead spell, which doesn't count against the number of artificer spells you know. You can cast animate dead without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

The Reanimated Minion

The Reanimated Minion: You gain the ability to create a reanimated minion to serve you. As an action, you can expend a use of your Tools of the Mad Scientist feature to animate a corpse within 5 feet of you. The corpse becomes a reanimated minion under your control, following your verbal commands. The reanimated minion uses the statistics of a skeleton or zombie, as determined by the Dungeon Master.

The reanimated minion remains animated for 1 hour, after which it collapses into a lifeless state. You can have only one reanimated minion at a time. If you create another one, the previous one becomes lifeless.

Electrifying Enhancements

Your experiments with electricity allow you to imbue your reanimated minions with electrifying enhancements. Your reanimated minions gain resistance to lightning damage, and their melee attacks deal an additional 1d6 lightning damage.

Unholy Reconstruction

Your mastery over reanimation reaches new heights. When your reanimated minion is reduced to 0 hit points and collapses into a lifeless state, you can use your reaction to reconstruct it. The minion returns to life with half its hit points, and it regains full hit points if it finishes a short or long rest.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Master of the Unnatural

Your understanding of the unnatural allows you to create a more powerful reanimated companion. You can use your Tools of the Mad Scientist feature to cast the create undead spell without expending a spell slot. Additionally, when you cast create undead, you can create one additional undead creature.
