Base Class: Rogue
Not all criminals rely on finesse and fast hands to get the job done. Some turn to raw brute force, dirty tricks, and ruthlessness.
Thug
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor and one handed martial weapons. You may sneak attack when using a one handed non-finesse weapon (in addition to when using a finesse weapon). All other requirements regarding sneak attack remain unchanged.
Dirty Fighting
You fight without honor, striking below the belt to cause the most pain -- not necessarily damage -- possible. A swift kick to the groin, a hard blow to the solar plexus, or a handful of dirt tossed into the eyes of your foe are standard practice. Starting at 3rd level, after you deal sneak attack damage, you may use your bonus action to cause your target to become Frightened until the end of your next turn.
Shakedown
The art of intimidation can be subtle, using carefully chosen words to cause terror and dread. Or you can throw someone against the wall and start breaking kneecaps. Starting at 9th level, when you make an Intimidation check, add your Strength score to the check.
Make 'em Bleed
At 13th level, when you apply sneak attack damage, you may also cause the target to suffer ongoing damage at the start of its turn equal to your number of sneak attack dice. After suffering the damage, the target may make a Constitution save with a DC of 8 + proficiency + your Strength to end the effect. Magical healing, or a Medicine check against the same DC, also end the effect.
Crippling Blow
Starting at 17th level, you learn to exploit a creature's weak spots. When you use Dirty Fighting, in addition to being Frightened, the target also grants advantage to attacks made against it until the end of your next turn.
