Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Bristlecone Pine train their bodies to withstand slashing wind, pounding snow, and piercing rain. They have learned to redirect these energies and unleash them in a whirlwind of attacks.

Flowing Branches

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can siphon your enemy’s ki when they attack you, storing it in your body until you are ready to unleash it.

Whenever you take the Dodge action and are attacked, roll a Dexterity save for each attack adding your wisdom modifier to the save. If the Dexterity save meets or beats the attack roll it misses and you absorb the kinetic energy from the attack. You may only use this technique against (non spell) slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning attacks.

For each attack that misses, you gain that many extra attacks during your next turn. With a maximum number of attacks equaling your Proficiency Bonus.

Strong Roots

At 6th level, you gain the ability to heal yourself after using Flowing Branches. As a bonus action, you can regain hit points equal to your martial arts dice for each missed attack, forgoing the extra attacks. You must finish a short rest before you can use this feature again.

Ring of Growth

Beginning at 11th level, you age slower, one year for every two years that pass. This slower aging allows your body to recover from exhaustion at an astonishing rate. You remove one level of exhaustion during a short rest rather than a Long rest.

Sectored Bark

At 17th level, you have mastered Flowing Branches. You are now able to absorb even magical attacks of all damage types that require an attack roll.
