Base Class: Bard
Redone for the 2024 Bard Class
Taking a step away from the stereotypical implications of the title Bard, these individuals express themselves in other means than music. Though they may not play instruments or sing, they show their creativity through painting. They are able to infuse their unique magic into the paint they use to create these pieces of art, giving life to what they design.
They are more antisocial and are more ragged and rough as for their appearances, their clothes, skin, and hair are typically stained with their constant use of paints and inks. It is told and rumoured that through practice and determination, these bards can actually bring their artwork to life to serve them as familiars and followers.
Bonus Proficiency
You gain proficiency with painter's supplies. In addition, you can use painter's supplies as a spell casting focus for your bard spells.
Living Artwork
At 3rd level, you have gained the ability to channel your magic into a piece of artwork you have created. As an Action you can paint a creature with a CR equal to your bard level divided by 3 rounded down that you have seen in your adventurers. The creature created by this feature cannot cast any spells they may have, however, if the creature has the option to use multiattack they may use it. You can create only one Living Artwork at a time, uses of this feature reset on a long rest.
The creature appears within 15 feet of you and is under your control for 1 minute or until dismissed, killed, or until you've created a new living artwork. Its creature type becomes construct, and it becomes immune to the charmed and poisoned condition, if it was not already. It may only make physical attacks, it cannot cast spells or use abilities. It takes on the HP and AC of the creature it was painted after. After the duration the creature is reduced into a puddle of paint. It takes its turn immediately after you in initiative.

When targetting a piece of armor, that ally gains resistance to the element associated with that color. When applied to a weapon, that weapons deals extra damage equal to your bardic inspiration die. Refined Art
At 6th level, you have improved the quality of your craft. When creating your Living Artwork, you may choose to create it using your Color Palette, replacing the damage of the creature to the damage type associated with the color you chose.
Additionally, when you cast a spell you may choose to expend a use of your bardic die to replace the damage type of the casted spell with one of the damage types from your Color Palette.
Worldy Mural
At 14th level, you have taken inspiration from legends and myths you have heard of. As an action, choose one of the options listed below to paint. You create a mural of the chosen creature and gain effects based on what you paint:
- Dragon: A dragon rises from the mural and flies around you in a 30 foot area. Enemies must make a DEX saving through versus your spell save DC or take 8d6 fire damage, or half as much on a successful save.
- Phoenix: Choose yourself or an ally within 30 feet of you. A Phoenix rises from the mural and sits on that creature's shoulder for the next minute. If that creature's HP were to drop to 0 within the time frame, they instead regain 1 HP.
- Griffin: A Griffin rises from the mural and roars. Enemies within 30 feet of you must make a CON save versus your spell save DC or have disadvantage on their attacks until the beginning of your next turn.
- Fenrir: A large wolf rises from the mural and howls. Allies within 30 feet of you gain advantage on their attacks until the start of your next turn.
- Moon Rabbit: A swarm of rabbits flood the area around you within 30 feet. Yourself and other creatures within the area are heavily obscured and blinded until the start of your next turn.
- Sphinx: A Sphinx rises from the mural. Your sight is connected to it, allowing you to see invisible creatures within 30 feet of yourself for the next minute.
- Bake-kurija: A large ghostly whale rises from the mural and flies around slowly within 30 feet of you. Haunting whispers and wails fills the air, causing enemies to become wary of you and your allies. Enemies within 30 feet of you must make a CON save versus your spell save DC or they cannot move closer toward you or your allies until the start of your next turn.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your charisma modifier per Long Rest
