Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians of the Bear Shaman path are warriors touched by the primal spirit of the bear. More than just fierce combatants, they channel the essence of nature itself, healing their allies as they tear into their foes. In times of war and strife, they are the spiritual guardians of their people, their strikes echoing with the power of the wild, and their very presence offering a balm of protection to those they fight for. As they rage, they draw upon the bear’s might, taking on its visage and using the primal energy within to both destroy their enemies and mend the wounded.

Primal Strike

Starting at 3rd level, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack while raging, you can channel the primal energy of the land to heal yourself or an ally within 30 feet. The target regains hit points equal to 1d6 + your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1). You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Bear's Fury

At 3rd level, when you enter a Rage, you can choose to take on a more bear-like appearance, with your hands becoming claws and your teeth elongating into fangs. While in this bear form:

  • Your unarmed strikes deal 1d8 slashing damage.
  • You can make unarmed strikes as a bonus action.
  • You can use Primal Strike on a hit with your unarmed strikes, in addition to using it with melee weapons.
  • You gain a bonus to Strength (Athletics) checks equal to your proficiency bonus.
  • You count as one size larger for grappling.
  • At the start of your turn, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level. These temporary hit points can’t exceed your Barbarian level.

Bear's Endurance

At 6th level, you become a beacon of resilience for your allies. As an action, you can touch an ally and imbue them with some of your bestial vitality, granting them temporary hit points equal to 2d6 + your Constitution modifier. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Bear's Blessing

Starting at 10th level, your strikes not only heal but also bolster your allies' defenses. When you use Primal Strike, the creature you heal gains advantage on their next saving throw before the end of your next turn. Additionally, if the target is below half its hit points, the healing granted by Primal Strike increases by 1d6.

Avatar of the Bear

At 14th level, when you are raging, your connection to the primal spirit of the bear reaches its peak. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack, you can immediately use your Primal Strike without expending a use, and the healing increases to 2d6 + your Constitution modifier.

Additionally, whenever you use Primal Strike to heal an ally, you also regain hit points equal to half the healing granted.
