Monk
Base Class: Monk

The school of the Dreadfist is a hidden monk school filled to the brim with forbidden arts and knowledge. Amongst the several hidden arts is an ancient technique that is capable of harnessing dark remnants within the deepest reaches of the multiverse. Due to this, their style is considered to be one of the most dangerous styles throughout the lands. Most monks within the school of the Dreadfist are ruthless in nature and have a near insatiable lust for challenge.

With this constant lust for challenge, the Dreadfist monk hone their skills through experience rather than careful training and practice. This makes them intrinsically unpredictable in nature.

Dreadfist Arts

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can convert your ki into corrupted energy so that it has additional effects. Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on that target:

  • Each attack inflicts 1d10 additional necrotic damage if the enemy fails a Wisdom saving throw.
  • It must take a Constitution Save and will gain a level of exhaustion upon failure.
  • You heal yourself by half the amount of damage dealt.

Cursed Blood

At 6th level, you can choose to spend 10hp instead of using ki to perform monk skills. Doing this will allow the monk to roll advantage in addition to having 1d10 necrotic or radiant damage to whatever skill they are using.

Enraptured Barrage

Beginning at 11th level, upon landing an unarmed attack, you're able to conjure 1d4 additional fists to strike the enemy at the same time at the cost of 1 ki point. Each fist inflicts damage equal to half the damage you dealt initially with the unarmed attack.

Blacksun Cross

At 17th level, you can reduce yourself to 1 hp and use all remaining ki, you perform a final punch that augments your fist with a dark version of the spell sunburst that inflicts necrotic damage instead of radiant damage. After this attack, the monk is left paralyzed for the span of 6 hours.
