Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Path of the Stormforged transforms the Barbarian into a devastating force of nature at range. These warriors channel the power of thunder and lightning into thrown weapons, creating a unique combat style that blends the primal rage of a Barbarian with the precision of a ranged fighter. They thrive in the chaos of battle, hurling javelins, axes, or other thrown weapons with unparalleled fury.

Bond of the Storm

Storm-Touched Weapon (1/Long Rest): At the end of a long rest, you can bond with one weapon with the thrown property.

The bond grants the following benefits:

  • You can summon the weapon to your hand as a bonus action.
  • It deals an extra 1d4 lightning damage when thrown.
  • The weapon gains the returning property.  When you make a ranged attack with this weapon, it returns to your hand immediately after the attack, whether it hits or misses.
  • The bound weapon can emit light as per the Light cantrip using a bonus action.  This can be cancelled at any time using a bonus action.

Reckless Throw

Reckless Throw: When you make a ranged weapon attack with a thrown weapon, you can use Reckless Attack to gain advantage. However, all attacks against you until the start of your next turn are still made with advantage.

Gale Step

Gale Step: Once on each of your turns, when you hit a creature with a thrown weapon, you can move 10 additional feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

Storm Affinity

You gain that ability to sense any naturally occurring storms within the next 24 hours.

While within a storm, you gain an extra +5 to your movement and you may add your STR modifier to initiative rolls.

Thunderous Impact

Once per long rest while you rage, you can use your bonus action to empower your bonded weapon with thunderous energy.  When your rage ends, so does this ability.

Once per turn, when you hit a creature with the bonded weapon while it is empowered with this energy, all creatures within 5 feet of the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your Strength modifier + proficiency bonus) or take 2d6 thunder damage and be pushed 5 feet away.

In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 5 feet away the target, and the attack emits a thunderous boom audible out to 200 feet.

Storm's Vengeance

If a creature within 30 feet of you hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to make a ranged attack with your bonded weapon. This can be used once per short or long rest.

Avatar of the Tempest

Lightning Strike (1/Rage): Once per rage, when you hit a creature with your bonded weapon, you may have the weapon explode with lightning energy, dealing an additional 6d6 lightning damage. The target and all creatures within 10 feet of it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your Strength modifier + proficiency bonus) or be stunned until the end of your next turn.

Stormborn: While raging, you gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage. In addition, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with your bonded weapon, you can fly up to 30 feet without provoking opportunity attacks as part of the same action.
