Base Class: Barbarian
Hailing from long forgotten corners of the realms, the Death Grafters practice their profane rituals using ancient primal majiks to meld their bodies with the bodies of the dead, becoming horrifying and formidable abominations of war. The act of grafting the appendages of corpses onto themselves is taxing on the body, however, and they become more frail as their combat prowess heightens.
3rd Level - Improved Constitution
Due to the Death Grafter's unique constitution, their bodies are more fortified than others. They gain additional maximum HP per level equal to their Constitution modifier.
3rd Level - Death Grafting
Using ancient primal majiks, the Death Grafter gains the ability to attach certain body parts from your felled foes onto their own body. At will, they can spend ten minutes performing this ritual on a recently deceased corpse that they helped slay, selecting an appropriate body part to graft onto themselves. The types and amounts of parts that can be grafted increases with levels. Any appendage that the original creature could use for attacking retains that attack and can be used by the Death Grafter (i.e. a clawed hand is grafted with a 1d4 slashing attack). All attacks made with grafted appendages are considered unarmed attacks.
The maximum HP of the Death Grafter is reduced by an amount equal to the number of grafted appendages times Death Grafter levels. For example, a level 5 Death Grafter with two grafted appendages has it's maximum health reduced by 10. A level 17 Death Grafter with 6 grafted appendages has it's maximum health reduced by 102.
The ritual can be performed again to remove any unwanted grafted appendages.
At 3rd level, a jaw, a horn, and a tail can be grafted. A maximum of two appendages can be grafted at once.
At 5th level, both hands can be replaced with a grafted hand/claw/pincer/etc. Each hand counts as a separate appendage A maximum of four appendages can be grafted at once.
At 8th level, two additional arms can be grafted below your existing ones. These arms cannot equip weapons or shield and can only perform unarmed attacks or simple tasks. A maximum of six appendages can be grafted at once.
At tenth level, the Death Grafter's body can be augmented. By melding their body with a corpse, they gain all of the same resistances and weaknesses as the original creature, and they gain +1 AC while the body is grafted. This does not count towards the maximum number of appendages.
At 14th level, a pair of wings can be grafted. While wings are grafted, the Death Grafter gains a fly speed equal to half their run speed, and gain an immunity to fall damage. A maximum of eight appendages can be grafted at once.
3rd Level - Grafted Unarmed Attacks
The Death Grafter can roll 1d6 in place of the normal damage of its Unarmed Strike or Grafted appendage attacks. This die changes as the Death Grafter levels up, becoming 1d8 and magical at level 11, and 1d10 at level 17.
6th Level - Frightening Visage
The appearance of the Death Grafter is truly frighting. With at least one grafted body part, once per turn while Raging, the Death Grafter can attempt to frighten all nearby foes that enter its emanation or end their turn within it. Enemies must make a Wisdom save of DC equal to the number of Death Grafter levels plus the number of grafted body parts. The emanation is 5 feet, increasing by 5 feet every five Death Grafter levels, up to a maximum of 20 feet.
Critical Fail: The enemy is Frightened for two turns.
Normal Fail: The enemy is Frightened for one turn.
Normal Success: Nothing happens.
Critical Success: Nothing happens, and the Enemy is immune to this effect for 24 hours.
6th Level - Consume
Once per turn, as a free action, the Death Grafter can consume one of its grafted appendages. When doing so, they regain the maximum HP cost of the appendage and recover twice that amount of current HP.
At 10th level, Consume can be performed as a reaction.
6th Level - Flailing Appendages
When making an attack, the Death Grafter can use two grafted appendages that are able to make attacks at the same time. Roll the damage dice for both appendages and add them together, then apply the Strength modifier for damage. This counts as a single attack for the Attack action.
At 10th level, three appendages can be used at once per attack.
At 16th level, four appendages can be used at once per attack.
10th Level - Ineffable Will
The Death Grafter is immune to fear and charm effects.
10th Level - Wall of Limbs
When receiving a ranged attack, as a reaction, the Death Grafter can roll their Unarmed Attacks die and reduce the incoming damage by that amount.
14th Level - Monstrous Form
Death incarnate. While Raging, the Death Grafter can choose to grow one size larger, adds an additional damage die to all appendages, and cannot be restrained or knocked prone. This effect lasts for two turns or until Rage ends.
At 20th level, Monstrous form lasts until rage ends, and a third attack can be performed each turn while in effect.
