Base Class: Monk
There are legends that tell of a monastery hidden away in the bosom of a misty mountain range, where a scroll was stored that held the secrets to immortality and invincibility. Some who ventured there came back telling tales of monks performing heroic feats of might, and some who were thought worthy challengers never returned at all. Most think of the scroll as myths, and simply the teachings of the monastery's founder- but what are very true are some of the tales of their disciples. Those that have left the secret monastery are few and far between, but there was one who carried a mysterious package, searching outs prophesied recipient. This monk displayed such resilience and skill that some presumed he was the founder, looking to pass on his secrets; he did take on a small handful of disciples as he traveled the lands, eventually settling in a distant valley in his old age.
He and his disciples and their students became known for their uncanny ability to bounce back from injury and adapt to any close-quarters confrontation, being well-trained with various weapons and also in therapeutic meditations which aided in recovery. Their grueling practice regimen is infamous, keeping many would-be adherents away, but the monastery has been able to sustain itself. Monks of this tradition are more willing to venture out into the world than the original community of the mythical scroll, and are highly sought after as bodyguards and clandestine problem solvers. Coming from this monastery or being trained by one of its monks, you will be well-equipped to deal with crowded melees most would shy away from, having the awareness to use the right tool for the job and make it out alive. You will likely have gained a more relaxed perspective from all your training, but once word of your martial lineage spreads, trouble will have its way of finding you, and you will have few moments along your road to breathe in peace.

You exposure to various weapons and relentless drilling with them allows you to wield them proficiently, and to apply their theory to even ordinary objects. Once during your turn, when you expend a focus point, you gain temporary HP equal to a roll of your martial arts die until the start of your next turn.
Melee Specialist
Your wealth of experience with messy melees and weaving through cantankerous crowds gives you an advantage over most other close-quarters combatants, letting you see where and how to hit harder and find openings to slip out of reach. You gain a +2 bonus to damage with unarmed attacks and one-handed melee weapons, and can move through the spaces of creatures at least a size larger than you.
Projectile Proof
The secrets of your monastic tradition, carefully kept away from prying eyes, have now manifested from your training and destiny: arrows and all manner of projectiles almost harmlessly bounce off you, and your focus and strength of ki slow down and almost stop your aging process. You have also reached an ease with your ki and focus that gives your strikes an otherworldly force.
Your unarmed attacks count as magic for the purposes of overcoming resistances. You have resistance to damaged from ranged attacks while not Incapacitated. In addition, your body only ages one year for each ten that pass.
