Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Forgoing the conventions of other Rangers in favoring the crossbow over the conventional bow, Deadshot Snipers hone their skills of accurately killing at ranges far greater than any other archer.

3rd Level - Prone Firing Position

As a bonus action, the Deadshot Sniper can assume a prone position. While prone, all attacks made with light or heavy crossbows have double their normal range, do not suffer from disadvantage from being prone, gain +2 to attack and damage rolls, and ignore all but full cover. At 7th level the attack and damage roll bonus becomes +3, at 11th level it becomes +4, and at 15th level it becomes +5.

Hunter's Mark's cast range is equal to the Deadshot Sniper's attack range.

Attacks are made at disadvantage when an enemy is within 15 feet from the Deadshot Sniper, instead of 5 feet.

As long as there are no hostile creatures within 15 feet, the Deadshot Sniper can stand up by spending just 5 feet of movement.

3rd Level - Unseen Threat

The Deadshot Sniper gains +10 to their Stealth proficiency while prone. When they assume the prone position, they make take the Hide action at the same time.

7th level - Kick Off

The Deadshot Sniper makes an unarmed kicking attack against a creature within 5 feet. On a hit, they plant a foot directly on the target and leap off, dealing their regular unarmed attack damage and pushing the target back 5 feet while also leaping back 10 feet in the opposite direction. If the target is two or more sizes larger or is impossible to move, they don't get pushed back.

Kick Off can be used against walls or other objects, and will always hit when doing so.

At 15th Level, after using Kick Off, the Deadshot Sniper gains additional movement that turn equal to half their movement speed.

7th Level - Bullseye

The Deadshot Sniper deals an additional damage die when attacking while prone.

If the Deadshot Sniper kills a creature effected by their Hunter's Mark, they can reapply it to another target creature as a reaction.

11th Level - Exploit Weakness

When making a ranged attack with a light or heavy crossbow while prone, the Deadshot Sniper's critical threshold is reduced by one (they critically hit when rolling a 19 or 20 on the attack roll). This effect stacks with other similar effects.

If the target has Hunter's Mark applied when critically hit, add an additional damage die to the critical bonus damage.

11th Level - Headshot

Can only target creatures that have a clearly defined head or obvious weak point.

Using both an action and bonus action, the Deadshot Sniper takes careful aim and fires at a creature's weak point. Make an attack with a light or heavy crossbow with a -8 chance to hit. If the attack hits, it's always a critical hit.

15th Level - Sniper Elite

The damage die for Hunter's Mark becomes a d8.

The Deadshot Sniper can now take the prone position as a reaction.

When making a ranged attack with a light or heavy crossbow while prone, the damage dice of the crossbow is increased by one stage (a d6 becomes a d8, a d8 becomes a d10, etc) and when landing a critical hit, the target becomes permanently slowed.
