Base Class: Paladin
A paladin who makes the oath of undeath will do anything in their power to survive and thrive. Any bonds or tenets do not bind these paladins, as their only goal is to reach immortality no matter the cost. Some of these paladins will make deals with devils or evil deities to grant them more time in the world of the living, and some have the willpower to defy death itself.
Oath of Undeath
You make an oath to yourself, pledging to find any way or form to maintain your anchor with the living. Such a magical pact has granted you some unexpected boons. You gain the following attributes:
Undead. You no longer required to sleep, eat, drink, or breathe.
Poison Resistance. You have Resistance to Poison damage. You also have Advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the Poisoned condition.
Black Sabbath
As a Bonus Action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to call upon a swarm of damned souls to attack your foes. As you present your Holy Symbol or weapon, each creature of your choice in a 30-foot Emanation originating from you must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 3d10 necrotic damage. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage.
Oath Spells
You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed below. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.
3rd Level. ray of sickness, inflict wounds
5th Level. gentle repose, ray of enfeeblement
9th Level. summon undead, vampiric touch
13th Level. death ward, blight
17th Level. raise dead, contagion
Iron Maiden
You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical weapons.
Rotting Christ
Your connection to undeath and necrotic energy now saturates your body. When you are reduced to 0 Hit Points and not killed outright, you can drop to 1 Hit Point instead, and you regain a number of Hit Points equal to three times your Paladin level. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a Long Rest.
In addition, your ability to channel negative energy becomes more potent. Necrotic damage dealt by your paladin spells and Channel Divinity options ignores resistance to necrotic damage.
Cannibal Corpse
As a Bonus Action, you gain the benefits below for 10 minutes or until you end them (no action required). Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending a level 5 spell slot (no action required).
Cannibalize Life. When you reduce an enemy to 0 Hit Points, you gain Hit Points equal to your Charisma modifier plus your Paladin level (minimum of 1 Hit Point).
Blighted Corpse. Necrotic damage dealt by your paladin spells and Channel Divinity options ignores immunity to necrotic damage.
