Base Class: Barbarian
Some tribes have a tradition and culture based on watching the stars. They believe that the stars hold great guidance for them to follow, and their best warriors are able to manifest the Astral Planes in their fury. Many of these tribes are led by Archdruids of the Circle of Stars, and these warriors gain their power from it being bestowed upon them.
Alternatively, some warriors might have wandered the Astral Plane for a time, and the unique magic of the realm have permanently affected them in miraculous ways.
Level 3: Star Vessel
You become a vessel for the cosmos. While Raging, you gain the following benefits.
Resistance. You have Resistance to Force damage.
Void Aura. You emanate a magical aura that shifts the ground below you into a window that offers a view into the Astral Plane. This area is a 10-foot Emanation from you, and it produces the following effects:
- The ground in that area is Difficult Terrain.
- When an allied creature hits a hostile creature within the area, their attack can deal additional Force damage equal to 1d4 + half your Barbarian level. This benefit can only be used once per turn.
- When a hostile creature within the area moves to a space that is 5 feet outside the area, you can use your Reaction to Move up to your Movement Speed to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of it. You can then make a Melee Weapon Attack as part of that Reaction. This Movement does not provoke Opportunity Attacks.
Level 6: Cosmic Manifestation
When you enter your Rage, you can manifest astral spirits. You can do so a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest. You can also replace your current manifested spirit using this feature at the start of your turn while Raging with another one from the following list. When you manifest an astral spirit, choose from one of the following options, and if it requires a Saving Throw, the DC is equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Constitution modifier:
- Star of Heightened Gravity. As a Bonus Action, you can manifest this spirit to choose a creature within your Void Aura. That creature takes Force damage equal to your Constitution modifier, and must succeed on a Strength Saving Throw or gain the Prone condition.
- Star of Malevolence. When a creature within your Void Aura makes a Saving Throw, you can manifest this spirit as a Reaction to impose Disadvantage on the roll. Regardless of if the creature fails or succeeds, it then takes Force damage equal to the extra damage your Void Aura gives to allies.
- Star of Binding. As a Bonus Action, you can manifest this spirit to coil around a creature within your Void Aura. That creature must succeed on a Strength Saving Throw or gain the Restrained condition for 1 minute. It can repeat this Save at the end of each of its turns, ending the condition on a success.
Level 10: Warrior of the Stars
You gain the following additional benefits.
Extra Resistance. While Raging, you are also Resistant to Radiant damage.
Void Aura Improvement. Your Void Aura is now a 20-foot Emanation from you. Additionally, the extra Force damage that allies can deal to a hostile creature in this aura increases to 1d8 + half your Barbarian level.
Level 14: Fury Forged in the Void
Your astral prowess reaches its peak. When you take the Attack Action, you can use this feature to choose one of the following options:
- Starry Smite. You forgo one of the attacks you make with the Attack Action to use this option. You slam your weapon downwards, calling forth a powerful explosion. Each hostile creature in a 20-foot-radius, 50-foot-high Cylinder centered on you must make a Constitution Saving Throw (DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Constitution modifier). A creature takes 5d8 Force damage and 5d8 Radiant damage on a failed Save, or half as much on a successful one.
- Banishing Strike. When you hit with a Melee Weapon Attack or Unarmed Strike, you can banish the targeted creature to the Astral Planes. While it is banished in this way, it has the Incapacitated condition and its Movement Speed is 0. It suffers no additional effects from being in the Astral Plane. At the end of your next turn, it reappears in its space, or the nearest unoccupied space to it if the space has been occupied. The target also takes Force damage equal to your Barbarian level when it reappears.
Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a Long Rest.
