Bard
Base Class: Bard

The College of Whispers teach bards to take advantage of their ability to cross borders and enter courts and palaces relatively uncontested to uncover secrets, thwart threats, and acquire wealth and power. Bards of this college are highly sought after by political leaders as spies, and informants and by criminals as extortionists. Other bards rarely associate with those of the College of Whispers as they consider it to give them a bad name, and a parasites corrupting their honourable craft.

Tools of Intrigue

You gain proficiency with a forgery kit, poisoner's kit and one gaming set of your choice. You also gain a set of each of these tools. When you make a check using these tools you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration and add it to the roll.

Words of Terror

You can use an Action to whisper dark secrets into the ear of one creature within 30 feet of you that you can see. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spellcasting DC, on a failure they are frightened of you for 1 hour, on a success they are immune to this ability for 24 hours. When a frightened creature is targeted by an attack, spell, or other effect it can repeat the saving throw, ending the frightened condition on a success.

You can expend a Bardic Inspiration as part of this action, roll your bardic inspiration die and subtract the result from the target's Wisdom saving throw.

Master of Shadow

You gain the following abilities:

Fade into Shadow. While in dim light or darkness, you can use an action to turn invisible, you remain invisible until you attack or cast a spell or you end your turn in bright light.

Shadow Theft. When a humanoid, or fey dies within 30 feet of you, you can use a reaction to magically steal a shadow of its soul. You can keep a number of stolen shadows equal to your Charisma modifier. As an action, you can expend one of these shadows to learn 5 memories of the original creature of your choice, or you can roll a 1d4 and instantly regain spellslots equal to the total rolled. Once used in either of these ways the shadow fades into nothing.

Peerless Subtly

You gain the following abilities:

Silent Casting. When you cast one of your Bard spells you do not require Verbal components, and you can make a Sleight of Hand check against an observer's Investigation check to disguise any somatic components as ordinary movements. If you cast a spell while Invisible or Hidden, it does not cause you to be revealed unless it targets one or more enemy creatures.

Disarming Etiquette. The first time you meet a creature, you can use an action to attempt to charm them. The target makes a Wisdom saving throw against your spellcasting DC, on a failure the target is charmed by you for 8 hours, on a successful save the target is unaware you attempted to charm it. While charmed the target will follow your commands as long as those commands don't obviously harm it. This charm ends early if you or any of your allies do something obviously harmful to the target. Once you have successfully charmed a creature using this ability you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
