Monk
Base Class: Monk

Way of the Golden Fist monks trace their lineage to a race of legendary warriors known for their immense power, fierce combat prowess, and the ability to channel their inner ki into overwhelming physical force. This unique heritage grants them a prodigious affinity for manipulating ki and accessing a primal fury that slumbers within their bloodline, waiting to be awakened in times of great need.

The Way of the Golden Fist teaches its practitioners to master both their physical might and their spiritual energy, drawing upon the raw strength of their ancestors to surpass the limits of ordinary monks. Through intense training and meditation, these monks learn to channel their ki into explosive bursts of power, allowing them to strike with earth-shattering force and unleash devastating abilities that rival the mightiest of creatures.

As a monk of this tradition, your body becomes a vessel for both discipline and primal rage. Your golden aura, reminiscent of the glowing energy of your ancestors, flares when you tap into your ki reserves, signifying your ascension to a greater state of power. With each surge of energy, you feel yourself growing stronger, faster, and more resilient, embodying the spirit of your warrior forebears.

The Way of the Golden Fist is not just a path of brute strength, but one of balance—between the monk's serene mastery over ki and the untamed power of their bloodline. By walking this path, you harness your lineage's potential to ascend beyond your natural limits, eventually unlocking abilities that can shake the very foundations of the world around you. Whether it's shattering mountains with a single strike, unleashing torrents of golden energy, or momentarily ascending to a form of unparalleled speed and strength, your bloodline gifts you powers far beyond those of ordinary mortals.

Practitioners of this tradition often find themselves longing for battle and enjoying fighting against overwhelming odds, much like the legendary warriors who came before them. However, the path is not without its challenges, as the intense power that comes with their heritage also bears the risk of losing control. Only through true mastery can a monk of the Way of the Golden Fist maintain their balance, unleashing their fury only when necessary and reigning it back in to prevent self-destruction.

Ki Manipulation

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you unlock the ability to externalize your ki in the form of radiant energy attacks.

  • Ki Blast. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 1 ki point to replace any of your unarmed strikes with a blast of ki. The ki blast is a ranged attack with a range of 30 feet, and you are proficient with it. On a hit, the target takes radiant damage equal to your Martial Arts die + your Dexterity modifier.

  • Ki Wave. As an action, you can spend 1 ki points to unleash a powerful wave of ki. Each creature in a 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide must takes 2d6 + your Dexterity modifier radiant damage. The damage increases to 3d8 at 6th level and 3d10 at 11th level. This attack counts as an unarmed strike for the purposes of your monk features.

Improved Ki Manipulation

At 6th level, your mastery over your ki improves, allowing you to enhance your mobility and unleash devastating attacks with greater precision and power.

  • Vanish Step. You can spend 1 ki point as a bonus action to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. You briefly move faster than the eye can follow, appearing in your chosen location in a blink. Additionally, when a creature within 5 feet of you makes an attack against you, you can use your reaction to teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the attacker. Doing so increases your AC by 4 against the triggering attack, and you can make an opportunity attack against the attacker as part of the same reaction if the attacker misses the with the new AC.

  • Dragon Fist. When you hit with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to summon a spectral dragon made of ki that coils around your fist, empowering your strike. Roll an additional Martial Arts die when determining the damage for that attack. If the attack reduces the target to 0 hit points, you regain 1d4+1 ki points.

Awakened Fury

At 11th level, you unlock the full potential of your bloodline, allowing you to transform into a heightened state of power known as your Super Form. As a bonus action, you can unleash this transformation, causing your ki to surge. While in your Super Form, your body radiates energy, granting you a +2 bonus to AC, and your unarmed strikes deal an additional d8 damage. You also gain the ability to fly, with a flying speed equal to your walking speed.

At the start of each of your turns, you must either end the transformation and gain one level of exhaustion, or spend 1 ki point to maintain the form. This transformation can last for up to 1 minute, as long as you have the ki to sustain it.

Once per short rest, when you enter your Super Form, you can choose to gain 3 temporary ki points, which are lost when the transformation ends. Additionally, you can use a bonus action to end the transformation without gaining a level of exhaustion.

Even Further Beyond
