Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins of the Oath of Silence believe that silence has the power to bring peace and reveal the truth. Silence, they say, reflects the clarity of thought and focus necessary to fight chaos and lies. These paladins are guardians of meditative calm and use their abilities to silence enemies who spread destruction and untruth.

The first paladin order that invented and then took this oath was formed shortly after the founding of the city of Silvercoast. Their primary goal at the time was to oversee order in the city, and their symbol became the finger covering the mouth. They were the very first paladins who achieved such power through this oath that they became Liminals, who are half spirit and half living being. Now these immortal beings guard the royal catacombs beneath the Silvercoast, waiting for the king to call them into his service again.

Sometimes a paladin takes an Oath of Silence, but he does so more out of respect for its historical source than for himself. Therefore, almost no one is able to reach the Liminal form. Paladins of this Oath quite often worship the Western Farmenian Pantheon of Gods.

These paladins share the following tenets:

  • If you speak, do so only when necessary.
  • Silence evil, chaos and those who lie.
  • Those who talk too much deserve to die.

Level 3: Level 3: Oath of Silence Spells

Level 3: Level 3: Silent Prayer

At any time, you can spend one use of your Channel Divinity and perform a prayer for 1 minute to silence all noise on your body and equipment you have. You now have advantage on Stealth checks for 10 minutes, even if you have heavy armor or a shield.

Level 3: Tacit Magic

Your dedication to silence extends to your magical abilities. When you cast a spell of this class, you do not need to provide any verbal components. Your spells are cast in utter silence, preventing enemies from recognizing their origin through sound.

Level 7: Level 7: Speakers protection

Each time you cast Silence, you can target a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). These creatures can speak and cast spells that require a vocal component without issue within the zone of the Silence.

Level 15: Level 15: Aura of Hush

Any enemy within your Aura of Protection who intends to speak or cast spells that require a voice component must succeed on a Wisdom save. On a successful save, he is immune to this condition for 1 minute. If he fails, he takes psychic damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) and must choose another ability that doesn't require speaking during his turn. The enemy can repeat this Save every next turn.

Level 20: Liminal Form

As a Bonus Action you gain the benefits below for 10 minutes or until you end them (no action required). Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you complete Long Rest. You can also renew your usage by spending a 5th spell slot (no action required). When activated, you can choose whether your body box will reflect the abilities of your living or spiritual part. You can change this option to a Bonus Action at any time during this feature.

Half-Living. You have resistance to force lightning and radiant damage from magical attacks but vulnerability to necrotic damage. Your weapons attacks deal bonus radiant damage equal to your Charisma modifier plus your Proficiency Bonus.

Half-Spirit. You have resistance to bludgeoning piercing and slashing damage from non-magical attacks but vulnerability to lightning and radiant damage. Your weapons attacks deal bonus necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier plus your Proficiency Bonus.
