Monk
Base Class: Monk

Practitioners of the Way of the Verdant Tempest combine an explosive, primal fighting style with the ancient power of jungle and tempest. Using gauntlets forged through forgotten magics, these monks strike with blinding speed, overwhelming their enemies in rapid succession, invoking the raw force of nature itself.

Gauntlets of the Forgotten

  • At 3rd level, you receive a pair gauntlets. These gauntlets count as monk weapons for your unarmed strikes, and your unarmed strikes deal force damage instead of bludgeoning while wearing them. If you lose your gauntlets, you can spend 8 hours meditating and crafting new ones during a long rest.

Predator’s Speed

  • "Explosive Strike: When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to add your Constitution modifier to the damage and force the target to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier). On a failed save, the creature is pushed 10 feet away."

"Rapid Reposition: When you take the Attack action, you can move 10 feet before or after each attack. Additionally, if a creature makes an opportunity attack against you, you can use your reaction to make one unarmed strike against them before their attack resolves. If your strike hits, their attack is made with disadvantage."

Jungle Instincts

Your movement speed increases by 10 feet. You can climb difficult surfaces, including trees and vines, without making an ability check.

Lightning Flurry

When you use Flurry of Blows, you can spend 1 additional ki point to make three unarmed strikes instead of two. These strikes deal force damage due to the power of your gauntlets.

Iron Jungle Training

You gain resistance to poison damage. Difficult terrain caused by plants or natural features doesn’t slow you.

Predator’s Instincts

If you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to move up to your speed and make one unarmed strike against another creature within range.

Concussive Burst

As part of the Attack action, you can spend 2 ki points to release a shockwave from your gauntlets. Creatures of your choice within 10 feet must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier). On a failed save, they take force damage equal to two Martial Arts dice and are knocked prone.

Unrelenting Blitz

As an action, you can spend 6 ki points to make up to six unarmed strikes against any creatures within 5 feet of you. Each strike deals an additional Martial Arts die of force damage. If four or more strikes hit the same target, the target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be stunned until the end of your next turn.

Animal Agility

Your movement speed increases by 20 feet. You cannot be restrained or grappled unless you are incapacitated.
