Base Class: Bard
A bard from the College of Lighting uses light—both in its visible form and in its symbolic power—as their primary source of magic. These bards are often dazzling performers, creating vibrant, colorful displays, illusions, and strategic uses of light to dazzle enemies and empower allies. They may create radiant beams, dazzling illusions, or control the light around them to help the party in various ways.
Level 3: Trick of the Light
While in bright light gain proficiency in charisma-based skills, while in dim light gain proficiency in sleight of hand.
Level 3: Spotlight
You learn to use manipulate lighting to supernaturally focus the audience's attention on a single target. With an action, once per long rest you may target a creature within 60ft of you (including yourself). The creature selected glows with a magical light, illuminating an area with a 5ft radius around the targeted creature, this light lasted for 5 rounds. While this effect lasts the illuminated creature gains 1d4 to damage and saving throws, and all non-illuminated allied creatures within 60ft, impose disadvantage on incoming attack rolls.
Level 6: Glinting Steel
You learn to manipulate the light around you to enhance your weapon attacks or impair a targeted creature. When you make a weapon attack in bright light, if you are using a melee weapon made of metal you may add 1d4 radiant damage to your weapon attack damage or attempt to reduce the next attack roll of the targeted creature by 1d4. The targeted creature may make a constitution saving throw to resist the impairment.
Level 14: Limelight
You gain the ability to learn the spell Sunbeam. In addition, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration to ensure any radiant damage you do that round is the maximum damage instead of rolling.
