Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who walk the Path of the Sovereign do so with a sense of conviction, knowing their right to rule is undeniable. Often having strong convictions and bold ideas, these barbarians treat every battle, from the smallest skirmish to the largest conquest, as a stepping stone on their path to greatness.

Sovereign's Dominion

When you enter a Rage, or as a bonus action while raging, you can choose a willing creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. The creature becomes your vassal for the duration of your rage. While a creature is a vassal, it gains the following benefits:

  • The first time it hits a creature with an attack on its turn, it deals additional damage equal to your rage damage bonus.
  • It has advantage on Strength checks and saving throws.
  • Whenever it takes bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, it can reduce that damage by 1. This damage reduction increases to 2 at 6th level, 3 at 10th level, and 4 at 14th level.

High Court

You have advantage on Charisma (Intimidation and Persuasion) checks you make against a creature that can see both you and one of your vassals.

Bend Thy Knee

At 6th level, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack while raging, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failed save, it becomes subjugated for 1 minute and falls prone. A subjugated creature can't stand up from prone while you're within 30 feet of it. At the end of each of its turns, a subjugated creature can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success.

You can use this feature once per rage.

Expansive Domain

At 10th level, you have now honed your commanding presence to reach more loyal subjects around you. You choose up to two creatures to become your vassals when you enter Rage.

Worthy of Service

Also at 10th level, when you spend at least 3 days in a settlement, you can force a number of commoners equal to half of your proficiency bonus to approach you and offer to perform mundane tasks for you. They will not fight for you and will not follow you into obviously dangerous areas. They will also stop aiding you if you endanger them, abuse them, or leave the settlement.

Sovereign's Decree

At 14th level, you and your vassals can cast aside those who would challenge your rule. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack while raging, you can condemn it until the start of your next turn. The first time either of your vassals hits a condemned creature with an attack, it takes an additional 2d12 force damage.

If a condemned creature is reduced to a number of hit points equal to twice your barbarian level, it dies. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
