Bard
Base Class: Bard

The loyalty of these bards lies in the pursuit of justice and truth, not in fealty to a monarch or following the tenets of a deity.

Level 3: Now I Understand

You gain proficiency with one skill of your choice from the following list: Arcana, History, Investigation, Medicine, Nature, or Religion.

In addition, whenever you make an Intelligence ability check that uses one of your skill proficiencies, you gain a bonus to the roll equal to your Charisma modifier.

Level 3: Objection!

You learn to use your wit to supernaturally bluff, contradict, and otherwise overturn the refutes of others. You gain two new additional ways to use your Bardic Inspiration:

  • Before you make an Intelligence or Charisma ability check, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration; roll your Bardic Inspiration die, and add the number rolled to the ability check.
  • When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of yourself fails or succeeds on an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw, you can take a Reaction to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and force the creature to re-roll the saving throw. A creature is immune to this ability if it is immune to the Frightened condition, unless it chooses to be affected by it.

Level 6: Keep Pressing On

You have Resistance to Psychic damage, and Advantage on Saving Throws against the Charmed and Frightened conditions. Additionally, no matter what you say, magic that would determine if you are telling the truth indicates you are being truthful if you so choose, you can't be compelled to tell the truth by magic and your thoughts cannot be read unless you allow them to be.

Starting at 14th level, you also have Immunity to the Charmed and Frightened conditions.

Level 14: Pursuit

At 14th level, you become a paragon of truth, granting you the following benefits:

  • You have Truesight out to 60 feet.
  • You know if you hear a lie.
  • When a creature adds your Bardic Inspiration die to a D20 Test, it can also reroll the d20, as if it had Advantage.

Keep Pressing On - Immunity

Starting at 14th level, you also have Immunity to the Charmed and Frightened conditions.
