Blood Hunter
Base Class: Blood Hunter

An order not of blood but punishment, all blood hunters of the order of the punished did not join willingly but rather as a form of divine judgement. Normally the hunter's senses are enhanced via the Hunter's Bane, however the punished are cursed through rituals or forgotten magic. They do not deserve to die and need to redeem their former actions.

Curse of Immortality

Starting at 3rd level, your curse does not attempt to prevent wounds but rather restore your body so you can repent.

You do not age naturally, cannot suffer the consequences of progressed aging and you life span is considered endless.

In addition at the start of your turn you regain 1d10 + 4 hit points. At level 5 this bonus increases to 6, at 9th level to 8, at 13th level to 10 and at 17th level to 12.

Rite of Obedience

When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn the Rite of Obedience as part of your Crimson Rite feature. When you activate the Rite of Obedience, the extra damage dealt by your rite is psychic damage. Additionally, while that rite is active on your weapon, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to psychic damage.
  • Either your Strength or Dexterity increases by 2 as does your maximum for that attribute, while at the same time your Charisma decreases by 2 as does your maximum for that attribute.
  • If a creature directly commands you to take a certain course of action, you must succeed a Charisma Saving Throw at advantage, with a DC equal to your Hemocraft save DC or follow the command in your next turn to the best of your abilities.

Reconstruction of the Wicked

Upon reaching 7th level, you gain the ability to bring yourself back from death. Upon failling three death saving throws or instantly dying via spells like power word: kill you resurrect with half your hit point maximum and suffer two points of exhaustion. You can use this ability once per dawn. At 15th level you suffer only one point of exhaustion and can use this feature any number of times. When you reach 6 points of exhaustion, you die permanently.

Brand of Finality

Starting at 11th level, your Brand of Castigation can stop a creature from prolonging it's life via healing effects like spells, potions or similar.

Whenever a creature marked by your Brand of Castigation regains hit points, it instead regains no life and you and a creature of you within 30ft. regain half of what it would regained.

Additionally if a branded creature dies, all abilities that would allow it to come back from death or reconstruct itself [via a liches phylactery or demons returning to hell] are negated and it can't do so.

Blood Curse of Delay

At 15th level, you can delay the fate of your allies and grant them temporary life. You gain the Blood Curse of Delay for your Blood Maledict feature. This doesn’t count against your number of blood curses known.

Eternal Servitude

Upon reaching 18th level, your curse deepens as much as it can.

Whenever you regain hit points via the "Curse of Immortaliy" feature, you regrow any missing limbs or body parts in an instant.

Additionally if a creature within 30ft. of you would die as explained by the "Reconstruction of the Wicked" feature, you can use your reaction to die instead of them and proceed as explained by the feature. You can use this feature once per long rest.
