Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Earth Dragoons are stout and stoic defenders of their ancestral lands, standing firm as unyielding pillars amid chaos. Leading tribes and commanding beasts, they embody the enduring strength of the soil beneath their feet.

Like the earth itself, they are immovable and powerful—slow to anger but devastating once roused. Though their command over elemental land magic is minor, it suffuses their bodies and weapons, granting them resilience and crushing force in battle.

Earth Dragoons fight not just for survival, but to safeguard the ancient bond between their people and the land, holding the line where others would falter.

Draconic Leap

3rd-Level Earth Dragoon feature

You leap like a boulder launched from a catapult—brutal, heavy, and unstoppable. Your legs channel the rage of the mountains, and your landings fracture the battlefield.

📏 Enhanced Jump

You gain resistance to falling damage.
In addition, when you make a High Jump or Long Jump without a running start, calculate your jump distance as follows:

  • Standing Jump Distance (in feet) = your Acrobatics modifier + Strength modifier, rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5.

Example: Acrobatics +7 and Strength +4 = total 11 → jump distance = 10 feet.

Note: Your maximum jump height is still limited by environmental constraints such as ceilings, magical barriers, or confined spaces. The DM may reduce your jump height or redirect your leap based on available room.

🌀 Aerial Strike (Jump Attack)

Once per turn, you may use your Action to initiate a Draconic Leap:

  • You leap vertically up to your full jump height.

  • You remain airborne until the start of your next turn.

  • While airborne, you are considered out of melee range of most creatures (unless they can fly or have reach).

  • You may still be targeted by ranged attacks and spells.

At the start of your next turn, you descend rapidly toward the battlefield:

  • Choose a landing space within 5 feet of horizontal drift per 10 feet fallen.
(Ex: If you fell 50 feet, you can land up to 25 feet away horizontally.)

  • This movement does not consume movement or action.

Then, as part of this ability, you make one melee weapon attack with the following properties:

  • The attack is made with advantage.

  • On a hit, it deals extra weapon damage based on your Dragoon subclass level:

Dragoon Levels Extra Damage
1st–4th +1d6
5th–8th +2d6
9th–12th +3d6
13th–16th +4d6
17th–20th +5d6

🔼 Dragoon Level Scaling

If you have levels in multiple subclasses or classes with the “Dragoon” tag, your jump distance improves:

  • At 10 combined Dragoon levels: Multiply your jump distance by 5.

  • At 20 combined Dragoon levels: Multiply your jump distance by 10.

Meteor Fury

3rd-level Earth Dragoon feature

Your fury channels the unyielding strength of the earth, smashing through foes with relentless power and ground-shaking force.

  • When wielding a Greataxe or Halberd, you ignore the Cleave limit on your attacks, allowing you to hit multiple foes without restriction on cleave-style effects.

  • When you use your Draconic Leap,  you may enter Rage as part of that action.

  • Your Rage does not end early this turn if you fail to hit an enemy.

Draconic Form

6th-level Earth Dragoon feature

As a bonus action, you enter your Draconic Form for 1 minute, or until you are incapacitated or end it early (no action required). You may use this feature once per short or long rest.

🛡️ Draconic Armor

Your body is sheathed in a glowing, magical scale-plate that enhances your armor—but only if you are trained and equipped to handle it.

Armor Type Draconic Armor AC
Unarmored 13 + Dexterity modifier
Light Armor 15 + Dexterity modifier
Medium Armor 18 + Dexterity modifier (max +2)
Heavy Armor 21
  • You must be proficient in and wearing the armor type to benefit from its Draconic AC.

  • If not, you gain only the Unarmored calculation.

  • While in Draconic Form, you gain a +1 bonus to all saving throws.

🪴 Winged Mobility

You gain a fly speed equal to your walking speed. You cannot hover—you must land by the end of your turn or begin falling. If you end your turn in midair without a solid surface below, you fall immediately.

Bone Crush

10th-level Earth Dragoon feature

You become a living shockwave, punishing those who stand near your impact zone.

🩸 Prone Shock

Whenever you hit a creature with an Aerial Strike using a Greataxe or Halberd, you can use your bonus action to force that creature to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failure, they are knocked prone.

🔻 Enhanced Impact (Dragoon Form Only)

While in Dragoon Form, your Bone Crush affects all other creatures within your melee weapon’s reach. They must each make a Strength or Dexterity saving throw (their choice). On a failure, they are knocked back a number of feet equal to your weapon's reach.

🌪️ Earthquake Pulse (1/Short Rest)

As an action, you conjure a small earthquake centered on a 10-foot cube within 30 feet of you. You may move the center of this effect up to 30 feet in a straight line immediately after casting.

Each creature in the affected area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, they are knocked back 10 feet and take Xd6 bludgeoning damage, where X = your combined Dragoon level.

Draconic Spirit

17th-level Earth Dragoon feature

You summon a spirit of the land in the form of a massive, spectral earth dragon that serves as your mount and companion.

🐉 Spectral Manifestation

As an action, you summon a quasi-real, spectral dragon in an unoccupied space within 30 feet.

  • Duration: 1 hour or until reduced to 0 hit points.

  • Size: One category larger than you.

  • Movement: 30 ft. walking, 100 ft. flying.

  • Mountable: You or one willing creature may ride the spirit (one rider at a time).

  • Initiative: Shares your count. Cannot take actions beyond movement.

  • Stats: Use your HP, AC, saves, resistances, and vulnerabilities.

When reduced to 0 HP, the spirit fades over 1 minute, allowing the rider to dismount safely.

🔄 Empowered Spirit (1/Long Rest)

If you summon the Draconic Spirit while in Dragoon Form (or activate Dragoon Form while the spirit is summoned), you may empower it:

  • The spirit becomes fully corporeal and gains the stat block of a dragon with the highest CR below your level.

  • It retains your flying speed if higher.

  • It rolls its own initiative and obeys your verbal commands (no action required).

  • At the end of your Dragoon Form, the spirit reverts to spectral for the remaining duration, or vanishes if expired.

🔹 Only one spectral or empowered dragon may be active at a time.
