Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of Radiant Glory learn to enhance their body and souls with the radiant power of the Sun. As their mastery increases, they eventually seek to master their mind and achieve inner peace. For some monks this comes through an appreciation and study of self. Others might seek this mastery through study and veneration of various deities affiliated with Radiance.

Level 3: Radiant Soul, Radiant Body

Starting at 3rd level, you learn to draw upon the radiance of the universe to fill your soul, driving away darkness and providing clarity to your soul, while harnessing the power of radiance to augment your unarmed strikes and protect your body. You gain the following benefits:

  • You learn the Light Cantrip. You also gain proficiency in the Insight skill.
  • You gain resistance to radiant damage.
  • When you damage a target with your unarmed strike, you can change the damage type to radiant.
  • The power of radiance burns bright in your hands. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to deal 1d6 + your Wisdom modifier in additional radiant damage. You can use this feature once per turn.

Level 6: Aegis of Radiance

At 6th level, your ability to channel radiance to protect comes more easily. You gain the following benefits:

  • When you use Patient Defense, you may also heal yourself or an ally within 5 feet 1d6 + your Wisdom modifier.
  • You can summon an aegis of radiant energy to attempt to block a melee or ranged attack from an enemy using a reaction. This feature grants you a +3 to your AC for the incoming attack. You must be able to see the incoming attack.

Level 6: Searing Radiance

At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel searing waves of radiant energy. As a bonus action, you may throw out a radiant wave up to 30 feet away. This deals 1d6 + your Wisdom modifier radiant damage. A hit creature must make a Constitution saving throw to avoid being blinded until the end of their next turn.

Level 11: Gleaming Armor

Your body overflows with the power of radiance, further honing your physical resilience and prowess while allowing you to aid your allies. You also enhance your body and skills as follows:

  • You gain immunity to Radiant Damage.
  • You gain Darkvision out to 30 feet as your irises glow with golden light.
  • You may summon your Aegis of Radiance around an ally within 30 feet as a reaction.
  • Your body has a constant gleaming sheen of golden light that sits on your skin as a sort of armored tattoo. It grants you +25 temporary hit points after each long rest. Once the temporary hit points are used, the armor explodes outward and deals 4d8 radiant damage to any enemy within a 15 foot sphere of yourself.

Level 17: Chains of Radiance

At 17th level, you gain mastery of your soul and the pure power of radiance. Darkness flees before your light. You gain the following ability:

As an action, you may spend 5 ki points to magically create two glowing chains of pure light that you hold within your hands and make two melee attacks with. The chains have a reach of 150 feet and can disperse magical darkness upon contact. Upon a hit, the chains deal 2d8 + Wisdom modifier in radiant damage that ignores resistances. Additionally, if you strike a single target with both chains you may attempt to restrain the target. The affected target will need to make a Strength saving throw or become restrained. They may make a new saving throw at the start of their turn.
