Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks have found many ways to channel their ki. Some use it to manipulate the elements, others use ki for the perfection of their martial arts or even perfect the way or their weapons. Some monks use ki to throw their opponents off guard with strange movements, others use it to channel the power of radiance to aid them, and a few even use ki to cheat death. However, monks of the Way of the Kioku have discovered a new way to channel their ki, by using it to discover and manipulate the memories of their enemies.

Minor Memory Modification

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you have sharpened and honed your mind thoroughly, resulting in it becoming a personal shield against the effects of the mind made by other creatures. Spells and other effects that affect or alter your mind have no affect on you. In addition, you can cast the Friends cantrip without the need for verbal or material components. The only component you need is somatics, in which you must touch the creature.

Beguile or Qualm

At 6th level, you gain the ability to modify a creature's memory of you and your behavior towards it. You can spend 3 ki points while touching a creature to force them to roll a wisdom saving throw. On a success, the creature is not affected but does not realize you tried to change its memory. On a failure, you can choose to change the creature's memory to think that you have been its friend or tormentor all its life. If it believes you are its friend, it is under the charmed condition until you openly try to harm it. If it believes that you are its tormentor, it is under the frightened condition, but will try its best to please you for fear of its own safety.

Major Memory Modification

By 11th level, you have learned more effective ways to affect a creature's memory. You can spend 6 ki points to cast Modify Memory without the need for a verbal component.

Torrent of Memories

At 17th level, you have learned an ancient and secret technique of the Kioku, flooding a creature with so many memories at once, it renders them useless. When you are within five feet and touching a creature, you can spend 10 ki points to force them to make a wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the target takes 12d6 psychic damage and is flooded with so many memories at once, they become catatonic, becoming unconscious, deafened, blinded, and incapacitated as it swimming in an almost endless sea of memories you have implemented in their minds. No means short of a wish spell can bring someone back from the catatonic state you have put them in. On a success they take only half damage and are not affected by so many memories they become catatonic, as their mind is strong enough to resist your influence. Once you use this ability on a creature, that creature can never be affected by this ability ever again.

You can use this ability once per long rest.
