Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Shifting Form teaches that perception is the greatest weapon, and reality is easily adjustable in the hands of a skilled practitioner. Monks who follow this tradition learn to blur the boundaries between here and there, wielding disorientation as both a shield and a sword. Through the art of displacement, they appear where least expected, trade places with allies in an instant, and leave enemies striking at shadows.
Hakushu
3rd level
You can manipulate the positions of creatures in your vicinity with a mere thought. As an action or bonus action, you can spend 1 focus point to target two creatures (which can include yourself) within 30 feet of you that you can see and instantly swap their positions. You may also target an item, maximum size of which cannot be bigger than Large, and liquids that take up space no more than a 5-foot cube. If you target a hostile creature with this feature, it must succeed on a Charisma saving throw against your monk save DC or be swapped.
You cannot use this feature if you're in danger of planeshifting, restrained, or otherwise prevented from moving. You cannot affect the same creature twice in a row and if you attempt to swap a creature that is too large to fit in the space being swapped to, the swap fails and both creatures take 4d6 force damage.
The range of this feature increases as you gain levels in this class: 45 feet at 11th level and 60 feet at 17th level.
At 17th level, you can also use this feature as a reaction. When an ally creature within this feature's range is targeted with an attack roll, you can use this feature as a reaction to swap them with another ally creature who becomes the target instead.
Subtle Manipulator
6th level
Your mastery of body language and speech enables you to influence others with ease. You can add your Wisdom modifier to any Charisma (Deception) and Charisma (Persuasion) checks you make.
World-Collapsing Strike
6th level
You strike with such force that reality ripples and fractures. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon, you can spend 2 focus points to create a localized distortion. You inflict the following effect:
Spatial Collapse: The target must make a Constitution saving throw against your monk save DC. On a failed save, the area within 10 feet of them becomes a shifting void until the end of your next turn. This area is difficult terrain, and creatures other than you that start their turn there must take force damage equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1). On a successful save, they take force damage equal to your wisdom modifier and no further effect occurs.
At 11th level, you gain an additional effect which you can choose instead:
Temporal Disjunction: The target must make a Wisdom saving throw against your monk save DC. On a failed save, their perception of time falters. They cannot take bonus actions or reactions and their movement speed is halved until the end of your next turn.
Displacement Strike
11th level
Your mastery over spatial manipulation allows you to flow seamlessly through the battlefield, turning your movement into an extension of your strikes.
When you use your Hakushu feature, you can make one unarmed strike against a creature within 5 feet of you as part of the same action. Additionally, once per turn, you can choose to swap an additional two creatures within the same one use of the feature.
Shuchu Focus
17th level
Hostile creatures targeted by your Hakushu feature now makes the saving throw to resist the effect with disadvantage.
Your mastery of displacement extends to your presence itself. As a bonus action, you can create three illusory duplicates of yourself that last for 1 minute or until destroyed. These duplicates function as if created by the Mirror Image spell. You cannot swap with these duplicates.
While at least one duplicate is present, you can use your Hakushu feature without expending focus points, and can use it as a free action once per round. Additionally, whenever you use your Hakushu feature, you can teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of one of the swapped creatures of your choice.
Your duplicates deal 3d8 force damage to all creatures within 10 feet of it when destroyed, as they explode in bursts of distorted energy.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending 5 focus points.
