Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians following the Path of Pride are warriors whose pride for their principles and honor is so intense that it allows them to tap into their inner rage, simmering and channeling it into a devastating form of combat. Their pride is not just a personal trait, but a source of power. With an unshakable connection to it, these barbarians can unleash their inner strength explosively, becoming true champions of their convictions. Their fighting style is fierce and explosive, marked by powerful and intense movements. They fight with relentless determination, willing to give their everything in every fight, whether to protect those they care about, defend their own honor, or prove their unmatched strength. For them, each strike is a manifestation of their unbreakable will, and every battle is an opportunity to show that they don’t just fight for themselves, but for everything they believe in, their pride.

Level 3: Unwavering Pride

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you set aside outside knowledge to focus solely on your own fortitude and the pride in what you believe. Doing so grants the following traits:

  • You become immune to being Frightened.
  • You gain Advantage on all Charisma checks.
  • As a Bonus Action, you may enter a state of Unwavering Pride. In this state, your AC is decreased by -2 but in return, you gain +5 to your attack and damage rolls. This state lasts for 1 minute or until you end it early. This state can be ended early if you fall unconscious.

Level 6: Behold Thy Glory

Starting at 6th level, your pride in your prowess swells enough so that it becomes physically beneficial to show your pride in all its glory at all times. While in daylight or bright light, your AC is increased by +2, you cannot be surprised, and if you are in your Unwavering Pride state and reduce an enemy to 0 hit points, you may make an additional melee attack on your turn.

Level 6: Prideful Ignition

At 6th level, you learn to use your Pride to fuel your attacks further. Your melee and ranged attacks now deal an extra 1d6 Fire Damage on hit.

Level 10: Cruel Pride

Not even death can take you for long, and the more you are driven to an unavoidable end, the more you fight to prove yourself. Starting at 10th level, when you are under half your hit point maximum, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, both magical & non-magical. When you are under a quarter of your hit point maximum you start to emit an aura of white-hot heat from your body out to 30 feet. Any enemy within range starts to take 2d8 Fire damage per turn. If you survive past 3 turns, the heat starts to heat metal. Any enemy within range holding/wearing metal starts to take an additional 1d8 fire damage per turn for as long as they are holding or wearing a metal object. Any ally within range holding a metal weapon gains an additional 1d8 fire damage to their melee attacks with that weapon.

Level 14: Final Flash

At 14th level, you learn to show your pride in the ultimate way, sacrificing your own body to win. You condense and unleash all the overflowing energy from your body in a devastating attack, channeling your pride in its purest form.

As an Action, you begin charging your ultimate attack, the Final Flash that your enemies will witness before oblivion. The attack is unleashed in a 150-foot sphere emanation from your body.

This attack takes 3 turns to charge, after which it must be unleashed on the 3rd turn. If you stop charging within 1 turn prematurely, the energy is returned to your body harmlessly. If you stop charging on the 2nd turn, you will take 2d12 Fire damage and gain 1 level of exhaustion. While charging the attack, you cannot take any other action, bonus action, or movement that isn't charging up the attack, but you do gain a +2 to your AC while it is charging.

Once you decide to unleash the attack, all creatures and objects within range must make a Dexterity saving throw. This ability cannot be fully evaded by any features that aren't immediate teleportation if a creature is within range. On a failed save, they take the full accumulated damage from the Final Flash. On a successful save, they take half the damage. The damage of the attack is 10d10 Fire Damage. Due to the massive amount of energy you taxed from your body, you take the same amount of damage from the attack you dealt. You also gain 1 level of exhaustion from this attack.
