Base Class: Warlock
Your patron is a vampire or another creature with the power required to bend and manipulate life force itself. Reforming your composition in their image, their exceptional boon has made you an expert in siphoning the life force of others… at a cost.
Parasitic Spells
The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Warlock level specified in the Parasitic Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Rewoven Self
When you gain this subclass, you override your current race or species with the Dhampir lineage. One of your saving throw proficiencies is replaced with Constitution saving throw proficiency. You have resistance to necrotic damage, and vulnerability to radiant damage. If you are not below 0 HP, you cannot restore Hit Points by way of expending Hit Dice, potions, consumables, or healing spells other than Vampiric Bite, Life Sap, Vampiric Touch, and Enervation. All of your Hit Dice are reduced by one size, as shown in the below table.

Vigor Points
You harbor a wellspring of necromantic energy within yourself, and you can harness this energy to vampirically siphon the life force of those already suffering as a result of your necrotic abilities. This wellspring is represented by Vigor Points, and your maximum Vigor Points increase every time you gain a Warlock level, as shown in the below table (round down). After taking a Long Rest, you regain all expended Vigor Points.

Once per turn, when you deal necrotic damage to a creature (besides an undead or a construct) as the result of a successful attack roll, you may halve the necrotic damage dealt to the target and expend Vigor Points equal to the new amount of necrotic damage. You restore an equivalent number of Hit Points. Unless otherwise specified, if an attack or spell offers self-healing as a result of dealing damage, you must expend 1 Vigor Point for every Hit Point restored – otherwise, you gain no benefits.
Phantasmal Rejuvenation
You learn the exclusive Life Sap cantrip in place of one of your known Warlock cantrips.
Life Sap
Necromancy Cantrip
Casting Time: Action
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous
You conjure an otherworldly array of shadowy strands and weave them around the soul of a creature within range. This creature makes a Constitution saving throw (which a Construct or Undead automatically succeeds), and on a failed save, the creature takes 1d6 necrotic damage, and you restore half that many Hit Points without expending Vigor Points. You can choose to expend Vigor Points – for every 2 Vigor Points spent, you may increase the necrotic damage by 1, to a maximum that equals your Warlock level.
Cantrip Upgrade. This spell's necrotic damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
Level 6: Surgical Siphon
You have developed proficiency with the intricacies of life force manipulation. If an attack or spell inherently offers self-healing as a result of dealing damage, you must only expend half the Vigor Points specified to restore Hit Points. If such an attack or spell only allows you to heal for half its damage, you may heal for its full damage instead.
Level 10: Vampiric Savant
You have become an expert in channeling vampiric magic, granting you dominion over the Vampiric Touch spell in particular. You can cast Vampiric Touch without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest. You can cast it at a range of 60 feet rather than Touch, and damage taken other than radiant damage can break your Concentration on it.
Level 14: Permeating Drain
Your parasitic power heightens in scope and in power. The necrotic damage you deal always ignores resistance. Any time you deal necrotic damage to a creature that isn't a construct or undead, you regain Hit Points equivalent to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1) without expending Vigor Points.

Posted Jan 15, 2025Spent quite a bit working this one out. Hopefully it's a good, high-impact vampiric option!
