Base Class: Fighter
The fierce warriors known as hellions live for the adrenaline and chaos of battle, reveling in the glory of both bloodshed and victory with a fervid fanaticism. On the battlefield, they fight with the strength of a hundred soldiers through sheer force of will and a complete disregard for their own safety. Yearning for the thrill of battle, hellions are at their strongest when backed into a corner and on the verge of death.
Fervid Strikes
Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you thrive when you’re pushed to your mortal limits. Once on each of your turns before you make a weapon attack, you can choose to apply one of the following benefits to the attack:
- You roll the attack roll with advantage.
- On a hit, you deal extra damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
When you begin one of your turns at a quarter of your hit point maximum or lower and make a weapon attack, you can choose one of the benefits described above and apply it to all attacks you make on your current turn. At 18th level, you gain both benefits while at a quarter of your hit point maximum or lower.
Physical Might
Also at 3rd level, your body has been honed through battle. When you roll a Strength (Athletics) check, you can treat a result of 7 or lower on the d20 as an 8.
Fierce Resolve
At 7th level, you are nigh-impossible to strike down. When you take damage that would reduce you to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to instead drop to a number of hit points equal to 1d10 + your fighter level, unless the damage was from a critical hit.
You can use this feature once per long rest. At 15th level, you can use it twice per long rest.
Vicious Onslaught
At 10th level, you’re able to strike down entire legions on your own. Once on each of your turns when you take the Attack action, you can replace one of the attacks you’d make as part of it with one of the following special techniques:
Cascade. Make a ranged attack against any number of targets within 10 feet of a point you can see within your weapon’s range. You must provide ammunition for each attack, and roll a separate attack roll for each target.
Whirlwind. Make a melee attack against any number of creatures you can see within 5 feet of you, rolling a separate attack roll for each target.
You can make one of these special attacks a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier per long rest (minimum of once).
Indomitable Body
At 15th level, you shrug off injuries with ease. When you use your Indomitable feature to reroll a saving throw against a spell or effect that would make you take only half damage on a success, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
Brute Force
At 18th level, your attacks defy logic as you carry them through even insurmountable defenses with sheer force of will. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can use your bonus action to have that attack ignore the target’s resistances and immunities. Furthermore, you no longer automatically miss when you roll a 1 on a weapon attack. Instead, you add your attack roll modifier as normal.
