Base Class: Fighter

For D&D 2024. Inspired by Yasuo from League of Legends.

Whether with blade or bow, every movement a fighter of this archetype takes is made in harmony with the air that they breathe. Windlances enhance their attacks to stir up waves of wind with deadly precision, knocking enemies flying and guarding their allies.

Level 3: Steel Tempest

Starting at 3rd level, whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack as part of an action, you can summon a gust of wind to additionally attempt to shove them as part of the same action, as if you had hit them with an Unarmed Strike. This feature can be used once per turn. If the target is successfully shoved, they take an additional 1d4 slashing damage as the wind cuts into them, increasing to 1d8 at level 7 and 1d12 at level 15.

Additionally, if an attack roll you make against a creature crits, this feature can be activated regardless of other uses, and they automatically fail to contest your shove.

Level 3: Whispers of the Wind

Also at 3rd level, you become more aware of the currents of air as they flow through your surroundings. You gain proficiency in Perception, and have advantage on Perception checks that involve hearing or scent.

Level 7: Windsweep Wall

Starting at 7th level, you can use a bonus action to summon a wall of wind anywhere within 10 feet of you. The wall is 10 feet long, 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide and lasts a minute. It is intangible. You can select any number of creatures to have disadvantage on ranged attack rolls and Perception checks made through this wall. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long or short rest.

Level 10: Crushing Winds

Starting at 10th level, whenever you successfully shove an enemy using your Steel Tempest feature, you can choose to call on swirling winds to restrain the enemy in place until the end of your next turn. A creature restrained by the winds can use its action to make a Strength check of a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. On a success, it frees itself. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all uses when you finish a long rest.

Level 15: Galestep

Starting at 15th level, you can gather wind around you as you run if you take the dash action on your turn, rendering you immune to attacks of opportunity while you move. Additionally, you can shove any number of creatures which are within 5 feet of you during this dash, without using an action. Each creature can only be shoved once per dash.

Level 18: Last Breath

Starting at 18th level, you can use a bonus action to call down blades of wind upon any creature within a range of 60 feet which is prone or restrained. These blades deal an amount of slashing damage equal to the weapon damage the creature has taken from you this turn. Once you have used this feature, you cannot use it again until you have completed a long rest.
