Base Class: Monk
Inner conflict, passion, boldness, and guilt are of the many emotions a monk must endure when they become a Warrior of the Scarlet Soul. These monks resonate with the blood of their own sins and the wrath of fiery stars that hang above their monasteries, manifesting these emotions into colorful wings that hang on their backs. The wings serve as a constant reminder to a Warrior of the Scarlet Soul's dark past and hopeful future; freedom to be remorseful.
Scarlet Form
3rd-level Warrior of the Scarlet Soul feature
As a Bonus Action, you can spend 2 Focus Points to assume a scarlet form, wreathing your body in scarlet and colorful wings. The form lasts for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), have the Incapacitated condition, or use this feature again.
Whenever you assume your scarlet form, you gain a Fly Speed equal to your Speed halved (rounded down), and you gain Temporary Hit Points equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die. Choose which of the following wings erupt from your back; your choice gives you certain benefits while in the form.
Brown Wings. When you use your Deflect Attacks feature, the die is increased to 1d12 plus your Dexterity modifier and Monk level.
Red Wings. When you activate this form and as a Bonus Action on subsequent turns while it lasts, you propel yourself into an enemy with an equipped monk weapon. On a hit, you deal extra force damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die and push the enemy up to 10 feet.
White Wings. When you fail an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw, you can use your reaction to roll a Martial Arts die and add the result to your saving throw, potentially turning failure into success.
Yellow Wings. When you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike, you can deal one of the following damage types rather than bludgeoning: Acid, Fire, Lightning, or Thunder. Once per turn, you can deal 1d6 damage of the type you choose as part of an Unarmed Strike.
You can assume your scarlet form a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all expended uses of this feature when you complete a Long Rest.
Inner Conflict
6th-level Warrior of the Scarlet Soul feature
As you continue your journey, you've learned how to be more helpful to others. You can take the Help action as a Bonus Action on each of your turns. You can spend 1 Focus Point to enhance your Help action, giving the creature you help Heroic Inspiration. The creature must use the Heroic Inspiration before the end of its next turn.
Brilliant Resilience
11th-level Warrior of the Scarlet Soul feature
When you assume your scarlet form, your wings grow, shrouding your body in protective light. You gain damage resistances depending on which form you assumed.
Brown Wings. Force damage and Poison damage.
Red Wings. Cold damage and Fire damage.
White Wings. Necrotic damage and Radiant damage
Yellow Wings. Acid damage and Lightning damage.
Form of the Agelaius
17th-level Warrior of the Scarlet Soul feature
As an Action, you can spend 3 Focus Points and 5 uses of your Scarlet Form feature to assume the Form of the Agelaius, wreathing your body in the form of a blackbird, with your wings being the colors of every scarlet form. The form lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required) or have the Incapacitated condition. When you assume the Form of the Agelaius, you gain the following benefits until it ends:
- You gain the benefits of all of your scarlet forms other than the damage resistances.
- You gain a Fly Speed equal to your base Speed doubled, but your Speed is halved.
- You gain Temporary Hit Points equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die, which refreshes at the start of each of your turns.
- You gain immunity to Fire and Radiant damage.
If you die while in the Form of the Agelaius, you can choose to detonate yourself in radiant flames, forcing creatures of your choice in a 30-foot radius Sphere around your body to make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d12 Fire damage plus 2d12 Radiant damage upon failure, or take half as much damage on a successful save.
