Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Fighters who follow the Way of the Shadowblade have mastered the art of teleportation in combat, weaving through the battlefield like phantoms. Through rigorous training and an innate connection to shadow magic, these warriors strike from the darkness and vanish before their foes can react. Their style mirrors that of legendary tricksters and duelists, utilizing mobility and deception to overwhelm their enemies.

Shadow Step

3rd-level Way of the Shadowblade feature

You gain the ability to teleport short distances in a puff of darkness. As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. If you appear within 5 feet of an enemy, you have advantage on the first melee attack you make against them before the end of your turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Elusive Acrobat

7th-level Way of the Shadowblade feature

Your agility and reflexes make you a difficult target. You gain the following benefits:

  • When you take the Dodge action, you can teleport up to 15 feet as part of the same action.

  • You gain proficiency in Acrobatics. If you are already proficient, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks made with it.

Blade of the Abyss

10th-level Way of the Shadowblade feature

Your connection to shadow magic enhances your attacks. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can choose to deal an additional 1d8 psychic damage. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Additionally, while in dim light or darkness, you can see normally and can’t be blinded.

Phantom Gambit

15th-level Way of the Shadowblade feature

You can momentarily shift between dimensions to evade attacks. When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to teleport up to 30 feet away, potentially causing the attack to miss. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Master of the Shadow Dance

18th-level Way of the Shadowblade feature

You become a master of battlefield teleportation. You gain the following benefits:

  • When you use your Shadow Step feature, you can make one melee weapon attack as part of the same bonus action.

  • If you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack on your turn, you can immediately teleport up to 30 feet without using your bonus action.
