Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

From the earth came life, and from the dawn of life came humanity. They tended the ground and protected the earth, using it as their base of operations for millennia. However, from humanity came shovels, the most overlooked weapon in all of history. Once in a hundred years, one rises up with a shovel in their hand and teaches the arts of the forgotten knightly code, not chivalry, but shovelry.

Shovel blade proficiency

Starting at 3rd level, your shovel is no longer a tool or improvised weapon, but a deadly blade honed to a surprisingly competent amount. When you make attacks with the shovel, they deal 2d6 base damage.

Shovel swipe

At 3rd level, you can make an action to fling a creature with your shovel. The creature must succeed on a strength saving throw with a DC equal to your strength score or be flung 10ft and knocked prone.

Strike the earth

At 7th level, you can make an action to strike the earth and launch a hunk of the ground. The projectile is launched 15ft, and deals 4d6 bludgeoning damage. The area you struck becomes 5ft of rough terrain. This can be done 3 times per long rest.

Shovel drop

At 7th level, as an attack action, you can perform a jumping attack to bounce off of an opponent. If you damage the opponent, you gain the flying tag for a turn, and you are at 15ft of altitude. Your flying speed is half your ground speed (round up), and you can only move in one direction. If you miss, you fall prone. When you land on a creature, you do an extra 2d6 damage, and can launch yourself again as a bonus action.

Superior shovel drop

At 10th level, your shovel drop launches you to 30ft instead of 15ft. You can now move freely through the air instead of only one direction, and your flying speed is your ground speed. When you land on a creature, you do an extra 2d10 damage, and can launch yourself again as a bonus action.
