Base Class: Fighter

Immovable as a rock Shield Wardens are the cliff which a sea of enemies break against. Iron hard resolve and refusal to yield are qualities they could never be said to lack, many a time has a Shield Warden held the line on their own against a far more numerous enemy enemy and when they themselves are mustered in great numbers present a moving wall that slowly grinds down the enemy one step at a time.

The ideal high characteristics for a Shield Warden are strength and constitution. Maces, hammers and shields are the common armoury of a Shield Warden, plus, as their name would suggest, a shield. Other weapons that they use consist of the medieval weapon known as a Bec de Corbin and flails, though virtually any weapon can be made lethal in their capable hands.

Unbreakable

While you are wielding a shield, your Warden's Domain expands to 30 feet.

You cannot be moved against your will, knocked Prone, or Stunned.

Friendly creatures of your choice within your Warden's Domain cannot be moved against their will while you are conscious.

Additionally, when a hostile creature within your Warden's Domain attempts to move to a space beyond you, you can make your Hold the Line attack without using your Reaction. You can use this additional attack once per turn.

Domain of the Warden

While you are wielding a shield, you establish a defensive domain extending 15 feet from you.

Friendly creatures of your choice within your domain gain the benefits of Half Cover while you are between them and a hostile creature.

Additionally, friendly creatures within your domain have Advantage on saving throws against being pushed, pulled, knocked Prone, or otherwise moved against their will.

Warden's Guard

While you are wielding a shield, when another creature you can see within 5 feet of you is hit by an attack, you can use your Reaction to interpose your shield. Reduce the damage taken by that creature by an amount equal to your Proficiency Bonus + your Strength modifier.

If this reduces the damage to 0, the attack instead strikes your shield and deals no damage to the protected creature.

Hold The Line

While you are wielding a shield, hostile creatures treat the area within 5 feet of you as difficult terrain.

When a hostile creature within 5 feet of you attempts to move to a space on the opposite side of you from where it began its movement, you can use your Reaction to make one melee weapon attack against it. On a hit, the creature's Speed becomes 0 for the remainder of the turn.

You must be wielding a shield to use this Reaction.

Level 3: Immovable

You are exceptionally difficult to move against your will. When you would be moved against your will, you can reduce the distance you are moved by an amount equal to 5 times your Proficiency Bonus.

You also have Advantage on ability checks and saving throws made to avoid being moved against your will.

This feature does not prevent teleportation.
