Blood Hunter
Base Class: Blood Hunter

Order of the Crimson Slayer

"Only the strong deserve to survive. The weak are a disease upon the world, and we are the cure."

The Order of the Crimson Slayer is a fanatical sect of Blood Hunters who see themselves as executioners of the unworthy, purging the world of weakness, impurity, and corruption. They are extremists, zealots who believe that power is the only true law, and those who lack the strength to defend themselves are little more than cattle to be culled.

Their definitions of “weakness” vary. Some within the order view immoralness as a crime, hunting those who cannot control themselves. Others see magic itself as a corrupting force, seeking to exterminate all but the purest bloodlines. Still others devote themselves to the eradication of specific races, creatures, or ideologies, believing themselves to be enacting a divine or natural order. Whatever their cause, their methods are the same: ruthless efficiency, absolute discipline, and relentless bloodshed.

The Crimson Purge is a secretive order, operating in the shadows or under the protection of powerful warlords, tyrants, or cults. They see alliances as a necessary evil—other warriors may fight alongside them, but only those who prove their worth will be spared in the end. Many Master Race hunters view their own existence as a paradox; their goal is to cleanse the world, but they are willing to taint their own souls with forbidden hemocraft to accomplish their mission. They will burn the world if it means forging something stronger from the ashes.

Blood of The Worthy

Level 3: Blood of the Worthy

The weak are nothing but fuel for your strength. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee weapon attack or hemocraft ability, you immediately regain hit points equal to your Constitution modifier + your Hemocraft die roll.

Additionally, when you activate your Crimson Rite, you can choose one creature type (Aberrations, Fiends, Humanoids, etc.). You gain advantage on attack rolls and saving throws against creatures of that type until your Crimson Rite ends.

Hemocraft Modifier: Constitution

Your Hemocraft modifier is Constitution.

Relentless Culling

Level 7: Relentless Culling

Your relentless pursuit of the unworthy leaves no room for hesitation.

  • When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can take the dash action for free and immediately make another weapon attack against a creature within range.
  • Additionally, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can mark them for extermination as a bonus action. The marked creature suffers the following effects:

    • They take additional hemocraft damage equal to your proficiency bonus whenever you hit them with a weapon attack.
    • If the marked creature has fewer hit points remaining then your current hit points, they have disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws against you.
    • You can have only one creature marked at a time, and the mark lasts for 1 minute or until the creature is reduced to 0 hit points.

Bloodforged Perfection

Level 11: Bloodforged Perfection

You have molded your body into a weapon of perfection, improving your ability to execute enemies efficiently.

  • Superiority Through Blood – When you crit, your Hemocraft die damage is tripled instead of doubled.
  • Cull the Frail – When you hit a creature that has less hit points remaining than your current hit points, your Crimson Rite damage is doubled.
  • No Mercy – When you take the Attack action, you can make one additional attack as part of the same action. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1) and regain all uses after a long rest.

Crimson Dominion

Level 15: Crimson Dominion

Your blood magic is unstoppable, a force of unyielding dominance over the battlefield.

  • When you activate your Crimson Rite, you can choose to sacrifice hit points equal to twice your Blood Hunter level instead of taking rite damage.
    • While this Crimson Rite is active, you gain the following benefits:
      • Your Crimson Rite damage is maximized.
      • You gain resistance to all damage.
      • Creatures you hit with a weapon attack must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or become frightened of you until the end of their next turn.

Apex Execution

Level 18: Apex Execution

You have perfected the art of extermination, delivering death with merciless precision.

  • When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can choose to unleash an executioner’s strike:
    • The target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier).
    • On a failed save, they are reduced to 0 hit points instantly if they have less than 200 hit points.
    • On a success, they take 10d10 additional Crimson Rite damage and are stunned until the end of their next turn.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
