Base Class: Blood Hunter
The Order of Duality is a formidable faction of blood hunters who embody the balance between celestial and infernal powers. Drawing from both realms, they gain unique arcane abilities that reflect their dual heritage. These hunters explore the complexities of light and darkness, empowering their strikes with radiant and demonic power that enhances their combat prowess. As they navigate the fine line between salvation and damnation, they become powerful agents of balance in a chaotic world.
Rite of Duality
When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn the Rite of Duality as part of your Crimson Rite feature. To use this rite, you must be wielding two weapons, and you can apply it to both as a single bonus action. You gain two rites, applying one to each weapon. While these rites are active, you gain the following benefits:
Rite of Hellfire:
- Your weapon is wreathed in hellfire, granting you a +1 bonus to attack rolls with that weapon.
- The extra damage dealt by your rite is fire damage.
- When you hit a creature with this weapon, you can choose to roll your hemocraft die. Both you and the target take fire damage equal to the result of the roll.
Rite of Radiance
- Your weapon glows with radiant light, granting you a +1 bonus to attack rolls with that weapon.
- The extra damage dealt by your rite is radiant damage.
- When you hit a creature with this weapon, you regain hit points equal to one roll of your hemocraft die up to twice per turn.
Otherwordly Resilience
When you choose the Order of Duality at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws. Your unique heritage allows you to navigate the internal struggles between light and darkness, bolstering your mental fortitude. This resilience enhances your ability to resist fear, manipulation, and other effects that target your mind, reflecting the strength drawn from both your celestial and fiendish lineage.
Dualic Balance
Starting at 7th level, activating a rite no longer causes you damage. Additionally, when you activate a rite, you gain resistance to the damage types associated with that rite for its duration.
Two Extra Attacks
You can attack three times instead of once whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Dual Rites
Starting at 11th level, when you apply a rite to a weapon, you can instead choose to apply two rites at once. This allows you to gain the benefits of both rites for the duration. Additionally, when you deal damage with a weapon that has two rites active, you add the damage from both rites together.
You can use this ability once per long rest. Starting at 18th level, you can use this ability twice per long rest.
Duality’s Quickened Action
You gain an additional bonus action on each of your turns. You can use this bonus action to take any action that can be performed as a bonus action, such as activating a rite, making an attack with a weapon, or using a class feature that requires a bonus action.
