Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Living Ki belong to an ancient, lost order of Dragonborn that mastered the art of channeling their Ki into moving objects and bending the will of others. Thought to be extinct, these monks honed their bodies and minds to shape the world around them, turning their very Ki into an extension of their will. You are one of the last to be taught these abilities, learning to unlock the full potential of Ki over matter.

Level 3: Ki Adept

At 3rd level, you unlock the ability to manipulate objects and creatures using Ki.

Ki Movement. As an action, you can target one loose object that is Large or smaller or one willing creature (other than yourself) within 30 feet. You can move it up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. If the object is Tiny, you can move it directly to or from your hand.

  • If you target an unwilling creature, it must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, the creature is moved as if pushed by an unseen force.

  • Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest, unless you spend 1 Focus point to use it again.

Ki-Infused Will. You learn to disrupt the thoughts of others by flooding their mind with your Ki. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Focus point to force a creature within 30 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, the target suffers one of the following effects for 1 minute (your choice):

  • Clouded Thoughts. The creature has disadvantage on Wisdom (Insight)Intelligence checks, and Charisma (Deception) checks, making it easier to deceive.

  • Blurred Vision. The target has disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks relying on sight.

Ki Master

At 6th level, your mastery over Ki strengthens, allowing you to manipulate your own movements and those of others with precise control.

Ki-Propelled Leap. As a bonus action, you can channel Ki to launch yourself through the air, gaining a flying speed equal to twice your walking speed until the end of your current turn. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest, unless you spend 2 Focus points to use it again.

Forceful Impact. Once per turn when you hit a creature with a monk weapon, you can release a burst of Ki to force it to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, you can choose one of the following effects:

  • The target is knocked prone.

  • The target is moved up to 10 feet in any horizontal direction by an invisible force.

Level 11: Ki Over Matter

At 11th level, your prowess allows you to exert greater force and defend yourself with raw Ki.

Crushing Force. When you move a creature with your Ki Movement or Forceful Impact, you can spend 3 Focus points to inflict force damage equal to twice your Martial Arts die. The target must also make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, the creature is stunned until the end of your next turn. A creature that succeeds this save twice in a row becomes immune to this effect for 24 hours.

Ki Barrier. As a reaction when you are hit by an attack, you can generate a shield of condensed Ki and gain temporary hit points equal to twice your monk level. You must spend 3 Focus points to use this feature.

Level 17: Unshackled Ki

At 17th level, your abilities surpass physical limitations, making you a master of Ki manipulation.

Unbound Flight. You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed at all times, as you continuously support yourself with Ki.

Sweeping Force. When you use Ki Movement on an unwilling creature, you can now affect up to three creatures at once, moving them all simultaneously. Each creature makes its own Strength saving throw.

Ki Maelstrom. Once per long rest, you can unleash a storm of Ki-driven force. As an action, you can spend 5 Focus points to lift everything in a 30 foot radius in a surge of Ki. All creatures and objects are lifted into the air and restrained for 1 minute.

  • Hostile creatures must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) at the start of each of their turns or take 4d8 force damage.
