Base Class: Monk
Monks who walk the Path of the Brutal Fist view the world in terms of survival through sheer strength. They believe that only the strong can protect the weak and that battle is a contest of endurance, will, and power. For them, martial combat is not about elegance but about breaking their opponents with overwhelming force. Their strikes are not calculated, but rather, they are filled with the purpose of defeating all who stand before them. These monks refine their bodies into tools of destruction, finding strength in their pain, and becoming a living embodiment of brutal power.
Level 3: Unyielding Strikes
You gain proficiency in Athletics (if not already), and your unarmed strikes are empowered by your Strength, adding extra damage equal to your Strength modifier. This reflects your focused training in physical might over finesse. Your fighting style becomes more direct, with every punch, kick, and strike delivering more impact.
Level 6: Bone Crushing Fist
At 6th level, your strikes become even more brutal. When you hit with an unarmed strike, you can deal additional damage equal to your Martial Arts die. You also gain the ability to use a Crippling Strike once per short rest, potentially stunning a foe if they fail a Constitution saving throw.
Level 11: Crushing Blow
At 11th level, your devastating strikes become unstoppable. By expending 1 ki point, you can turn an unarmed strike into a critical hit, bypassing defenses and inflicting maximum damage. This feature can be used once per short rest, reflecting your growing mastery of strength-based combat.
Level 17: Brutal Fury
At 17th level, you can make an additional unarmed strike with your bonus action after taking the Attack action. When you score a critical hit with an unarmed strike, you can use your reaction to grapple and restrain the target, dealing extra damage while holding them. Additionally, you can replace one of your Flurry of Blows attacks with a Power Strike, dealing double damage at the cost of gaining a level of exhaustion.
