Base Class: Barbarian
Bloodlust Savages fuel themselves with nothing but pure anger and hatred. Always ready to throw themselves in front of an enemy attack, they are powered by pain and take damage to strike back with immense strength. As they take hits, their bloodlust increases, boosting their endurance, strength, and agility. Due to their abilities, they can quickly turn the tide in a losing battle.
Bloodlust
At the 3rd level, when choose this path, you gain 1 level of Bloodlust every time you get hit. At the 8th level, this increases to 2 levels of Bloodlust per hit and increases at the 15th level to 3 levels of Bloodlust per hit. Your Bloodlust level resets to 0 after you spend 1 turn without taking damage.
- When you roll for damage, add an extra d6 for each level of Bloodlust.
- When you roll saving throws and ability checks with Strength, Dexterity, or Consitution, add your Bloodlust level to the roll.
- While your Bloodlust level is higher than 5, you can use an action as if it were a bonus action each turn.
Bloodthirsty Rampage
At the 6th level, you can enter a deranged, bloodthirsty state. When you imbue yourself with Rage while you have a Bloodlust level of 5 or over, you go on a Bloodthristy Rampage instead. If your Bloodlust level drops below 5, Bloodthirsty Rampage becomes normal Rage. While on a Bloodthirsty Rampage, you gain these effects:
- When you make an attack using Strength while on a Bloodthirsty Rampage, you deal extra damage equal to double your proficiency bonus.
- You have Advantage on Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity checks and saving throws.
- You can move up to double your movement speed as a bonus action.
- You can’t maintain Concentration, and you can’t cast spells.
- The duration of Bloodthirsty Rampage is the same as that of regular Rage.
Revenge
At the 10th level, when you get hit by an attack, you ignore Armor Class and gain Advantage on your attack rolls until the end of your next turn, and if Rage is active half your movement speed is added to your current movement speed (rounded down).
Battle Scar
At the 14th level, you gain the ability to scar enemies. After you take damage from an attack, all attacks you make that hit and deal damage will scar the target. Scarred targets will take an extra d4 damage for each level of Bloodlust you had at the moment you made the attack and increases by 1d4 each time they attack you. The scarred effect lasts until the afflicted target takes a long rest.

Posted Feb 25, 2025Fun subclass! Feels very barbarian-y :) I think the "While your Bloodlust level is higher than 5, you can use an action as if it were a bonus action each turn." feature could maybe be replaced with something like "you can use your bonus action to make 2 melee attacks when your Bloodlust level is 5 or higher". I think so because maybe using your bonus action to attack is more clear than moving your action to your bonus action? Good job tho!
