Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Your magic manifests as an unparalleled talent for the Projection and Reinforcement of weapons, allowing you to replicate arms from pure mana. Whether this talent stems from an innate connection to the concept of blades, an ancestral link to a legendary warrior, or the influence of an ancient force, your soul itself resonates with the forging of weapons.

Level 3: Trace & Projection Magic

You gain the ability to analyze and replicate weapons through a magical process known as Tracing and summon the weapon traced through the Project Weapon action.

As an action, you can study a weapon you can see within 30 feet. You make an Intelligence (Arcana) check against a DC of 10 + the weapon's rarity modifier (Common: +0, Uncommon: +2, Rare: +5, Very Rare: +8, Legendary: +12). On a success, you permanently record the weapon's composition and properties. You can store a number of traced weapons equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1). Tracing a weapon beyond this limit erases the oldest entry.

  • As a bonus action, you can summon a copy of a traced weapon into your hand. The projected weapon lasts for 1 minute (increasing by 1 minute per 3 sorcerer levels). A projected weapon is weaker than the original:

    • If the original weapon has a magical bonus, the projected version starts at +0 and gains +1 at level 6, +2 at level 14, and can match the original at level 18.

    • A projected weapon counts as magical.

    • Projected weapons vanish if they leave your hand or after their duration expires.

    • You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Level 3: Blade Works Spells

When you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Blade Works Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Blade Works Spells
Sorcerer Level Spells
3 Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Heat Metal, Nystul's Magical Aura
5 Rhoe Aias, Haste
7 Fabricate, Phantasmal Killer
9 Blade Barrier, Wall of Force

Level 6: Reinforcement Magic

You can enhance weapons using your mana. When you are hit with a melee or ranged weapon attack (including projected weapons), you can expend Sorcery Points to reinforce them:

  • 1 Sorcery Point: The attack ignores resistance.

  • 1 Sorcery Points: The attack ignores immunity. (At the 10th level)

  • 2 Sorcery Points: Add a +1 to the attack roll (increases to +2 at level 14).

  • 2 Sorcery Points: Deal an extra 1d4 force damage (increases to 2d4 at level 10).

Level 14: Projection Mastery

Your Projection magic improves, allowing you to create weapons of greater power and versatility:

  • Your body becomes the bone of your sword, and your blood is the fire that melts steel to forge thousands of blades. (Gain resistance to nonmagical slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning)

  • Your projected weapons gain the properties of the original (such as graze, nick, or special abilities that aren't tied to an inherent magical bonus).

  • You may now use projected weapons as a spellcasting focus.

Level 14: Blade Assault

Your mastery of Projection allows you to control projected weapons as floating blades. As a bonus action, you may animate up to three projected weapons, making them float around you for 1 minute to perform a Blade Assault.

  • As a bonus action, you can Blade Assault Strike, you may direct one of these weapons to make an attack against a creature within 30 feet, using your spell attack modifier. It deals its normal damage plus an extra 1d8 force damage.

  • If a creature attacks you, you may use your reaction to Blade Assault Counter Strike to interpose a floating weapon, imposing disadvantage on the attack roll.

Level 18: Blade Tempest

At 18th level, your combat prowess with projected weapons reaches its peak, allowing you to unleash a flurry of attacks and seamlessly combine magic with martial prowess.

  • Unlimited Blade Works: Your Sorcerous Bloodline is one wreathed in bloodshed and war, channel that into a reality marble 9th-level spell.
  • Extra Attack: When you take the Attack action, you can make one additional weapon attack.

  • Spell Combat: When you take the Attack action, you may replace one of your attacks with the casting of a cantrip or an attack spell of 1st level or higher, provided the spell has a casting time of 1 action.

  • Blade Storm: When using "Unlimited Blade Works", you may make an additional attack with a projected weapon as a bonus action.
