Monk
Base Class: Monk

Warriors of Emotion are in tune with their inner selves. Their control over their emotional state allows them to be adaptable to every situation - and sometimes a little manipulative.

Level 3: Emotional Stances

At the start of your turn, you can enter or maintain one of the following stances, or return back to a neutral stance. You must declare your stance at the start of your turn.

Grief. This stance has no effect of its own. When you exist this stance in favor of Wrath or Joy, you can immediately make one melee weapon attack against a target within 5 ft. of you. Exiting this stance into a neutral stance has no effect.

Wrath. While you are in Wrath stance, you have advantage on all attack rolls, and attack rolls against you are also made with advantage.

Joy. When you choose to enter or maintain this stance at the start of your turn, you must expend one Focus point to do so. You cannot enter the Joy stance if you do not have the required Focus points to spend. While in this stance, you have advantage on any ability checks made as part of the Influence action.

Level 6: Upgraded Stances

Starting at 6th level, your emotional stances grant you additional benefits as follows.

Grief. Every time you take damage while in this stance, reduce it by an amount equal to your Wisdom Modifier. This reduction is applied after resistances and other modifiers.

Wrath. While in this stance, you are immune to the Charmed and Frightened conditions.

Joy. While in this stance, you can take the Flurry of Blows or the improved Step of the Wind bonus actions without expending a Focus point.

Level 11: Contagious Emotions

Your absolute control over your emotions allows you to manipulate the people around you as well. The DC for any saving throw against these manipulations equals The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus. The kind of manipulation you are capable of depends on your current stance:

Grief: Condolence. When you enter this stance, choose a creature within 30 ft. of you. The chosen creature has disadvantage on attacks against you as long as you maintain this stance. You may spend any number of focus points to choose an additional creature for each focus point spent.

Wrath: Intimidation. When you enter this stance, choose a creature within 30 ft. of you. The chosen creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you. You may spend any number of focus points to choose an additional creature for each focus point spent.

Joy: Contagious Laughter. You may cast the spell Tasha's Hideous Laughter at first level as an action. You may spend up to 4 focus points to increase the level at which you cast this spell by 1 for each focus point spent. The spell ends early if you exit this stance.

Level 17: Enlightenment

Starting at level 17, you gain the ability to feel all emotions at the same time, with no drawbacks. You can enter enlightened stance once at the start of your turn, in place of your regular emotional stances. Entering enlightenment gives you all of the following benefits:

Grief. Every time you take damage while in this stance, reduce it by an amount equal to your Wisdom Modifier. This reduction is applied after resistances and other modifiers.

Wrath. You have advantage on attack rolls, and are immune to being Charmed or Frightened.

Joy. You have advantage on all ability checks, and you can use your Flurry of Blows or improved Step of the Wind without expending a Focus Point.

Emotional Strings. Any creature of your choice within 30 ft. of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or be effected by your emotional strings. You may choose for each creature individually, if it is Charmed, Frightened, or effected by the effects of Tasha's Hideous Laughter (of which you may lose concentration). You must make this decision before any of the saving throws are rolled.
